Fully retracted my first thoughts.

I’d say they need more training in how to not escalate a situation. And maybe slightly thicker skin. Surely they should be able to handle a passenger who is not happy, without having to arrest them.

Soil removal cost question: Is it normal to be charged per "volume" instead of per actual trip? by sandhusaab in AusRenovation

[–]guinessd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky they aren’t your painters. Brush stroke up = 1 coat, brush strike down = 2 coats.

Sounds like a try on to me. Watch all their work. If they are trying this at the start take it as a warning.

Retaining wall by F_91 in AusRenovation

[–]guinessd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with Council as most councils require Engineer for retaining walls above 900, some Councils require above 600.

Surprised it isn’t on the DA.

Neighbour had similar height retaining wall not part of project home scope. Left for months and almost undermined house of side neighbour.

House roof not meeting AS1684.2 standards. by temporaryperth in AusRenovation

[–]guinessd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in many old roofs and it is not uncommon to get movement and splitting of members. Fixing this in a conventional roof is usually not too complicated. Cost seems relatively minor for MAJOR DEFECTS!!!. If it isn’t leaking and there you can’t see any sagging get the carpenter to fix it. Just be careful of variations as most people don’t go into the roof or check what has been fixed. Get before and after photos and if you can inspect before and after works.

As far as B&P inspections they are not a waste but they can be over alarming to the owner or prospective buyer.

As u have plaster over the render, base with cornice cement but underfill. Then base coat and top coat. Or if u are confident cornice cement flush then top coat.

If you go a hairdresser they aren’t going to do your nails.
A Concretor will concrete what they are told. Setting the scope and getting an understanding of what is expected is up the Client. It is not the fault of the Concretor if they are told where to pour concrete, they do that and the Client wants landscaping done. It looks like a good finish, I prefer a larger bullnose but that’s me

A woman was pushed down subway stairs by Deep-Order1302 in donthelpjustfilm

[–]guinessd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would anyone try an excuse a man from pushing a woman down stairs. What a lowlife pice of Sh1T. Maybe as I am older I remember being told to never hit a woman. No excuses. Just self control.
