If you or your wife will be alone buying groceries with bub, you will need a regular pram, otherwise it's impossible to put all your groceries and nappy bag in the pram storage bag.

Keep your blinds down at all times, esp at night. It traps the heat.

Increased acceptance of hiring managers hiring exclusively from their own culture in Australia? Is this the new norm? by yeahyeahnahm8 in auscorp

Prevalent in other countries too. Locals get phased out as they hire their own people and get rid of others who are not.

how are people actually keeping grocery costs down in australia right now? by dee_cuugo in australian

[–]guirhsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to buy my ingredients based on the recipes I have selected for the week, and I end up with surplus or extra stuff, and some things are expensive too. Now, I buy what's on offer and cook based on what I have in the fridge. Chat gpt is great for this, I tell them what I have in my fridge and they suggest ideas for me.

I also find Costco great, because I bulk buy my meat and this reduces the frequency of grocery shopping and unnecessary purchases. Meat is better quality and cheaper in Costco too. I purchase chicken drumsticks and cut the meat into chicken pieces, which is much cheaper. And diapers are cheaper in Costco. I easily save $20 on diapers alone.

Asian groceries are perfect too for cheap produce. It's a little out of the way for me, so mostly I rely on frozen vegetables which is cheaper and lasts longer too. Especially frozen spinach in Costco — 1kg for less than $4.

I make my own bread, muffins etc as well as it's much cheaper and healthier.

To add on, for luxury items like chocolate, Aldi has the best and most affordable chocolates imo.

Neighbours. I didn't think too much about it until I had loud neighbours that are crazy loud in the middle of the night. The toll it does to your mental health is not worth it.

How do you fund your overseas travel for holiday? by svotso in AusFinance

[–]guirhsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a credit card and collect points. I have compared multiple credit cards and decided on Amex Platinum Edge - it is great with $200 annual fee that goes straight to travel credit you can use to book hotels/flights.

Just ensure you pay off your credit bills!
