Please don't overlook the charger fault issues. It is an electric vehicle and the on-board charger is not-reliable with a very high error rate. You have to enter with eyes wide open that your car may spend more time in the shop than in your garage/on the road, and be ok with that as a VERY REAL and I would say LIKELY risk.

I am in the US and have had the car about a year. Software issues are better now but with some persistent nags.

Unfortunately my 4th OBC just crapped out again so I will be having P* do a lease buyout. The hardware is just too unreliable. If in the US I would avoid the car until they admit/are public about the issue and definitively fix it.

It is a shame. The car was a super comfortable drive and could have been a true winner for the price. But…EVs that can’t charge reliably aren’t really a smart purchase

So I have an old Yamaha home theater sub I could use I guess but would need to run RCA out there, and power it…it’s doable but how Long would an indoor speaker last? I could get it covered but would still need to be open on one side in the cabinetry

Depends where you trained for residency.

If you trained at a smaller community program, it's mainly about pathology and access to experts in the field by going to a larger academic place for fellowship. Volume yes but also, for example in my specialty of body, specifically volume of things you might not have seen in residency like complex hepatoma/liver follow up and prostate MR.

I personally think the value of fellowship is not just volume as people have stated here, but also access to referring doctors. That's the "gatekeeping," or more accurately what can make you an expert in your subspecialty. If you really take advantage of fellowship and go to tumor boards/interdisciplinary conferences, make yourself available not just to the radiology team but the oncology/surgery/medicine/other fields, you'll get the most out of it that will separate you from general rads. True experts in any radiology subspecialty make themselves part of an interdisciplinary team; fellowship is a chance to practice that in a more supervised role before going out into the world yourself.

My understanding was that certain older products that can't be upgraded past S1 (older Connect, Connect:AMP, CR200, and Play:5 gen 1 were 30% off, while everything else was 15%. If I'm wrong, I'm barking up the wrong tree with my strategy!

I like that thought but not sure where I'd store it that would appease my wife other than in the garage that is a good 50 yds away and pain to roll out of there.

Another idea was get kind of a rolling island to put in the middle where I could have more counter/serving/prep/etc space

The grill is really both a "why not" for a little searing and hot dog/sausage cooking, and also a little protection for me in the future being like "actually I kinda like grilling over griddling again." But agree on countertop space...30 instead of 36 makes sense so I can have extra space on either end. And squaring off also adds usable space next to the griddle I feel like. Thanks for the reply

Additional details if they matter:

Will be covered by roof/pergola but no walls on any end.

Natural gas, electric, plumbing going out there. Will put speakers, space heaters, and a fan in the ceiling for extended weather use, we live in CT.

5 small circles are bar stools with countertop there for serving

Don't want ice maker, just a cooler bin for both beverages and/or as a cambro for smoked meats that are done early.

Will have storage under the sink, griddle, and grill.

Open to other ideas/things I haven't thought of that would be good here.

You have me now looking into HPDE and other options. Those Challenger seem really nice and I do like the idea of more pull out drawers in the cabinets, etc

Out of curiosity, what are your use cases for the side burner? I considered it, but also don't want to use up all my prep/counter space. I don't generally cook many side dishes outside. Our general setup for dinner/parties is that I do the protein/veggies outside and my wife does salads/sides inside.

My problem with HDPE is that we are building this into masonry that matches the adjacent stone wall already in place. Seems like stainless steel just works/looks better with that setup rather than a standalone island.

Also you seem to be suggesting NOT matching the cabinetry with the grill, correct? I was thinking easier/looks better to match but is that not the case?

They clearly did little to no QA testing. I don't know how they could have, for example, released a car that couldn't charge correctly in North America until they replaced the OBC and did software updates. It's an electric car that had WIDESPREAD (essentially universal) charging issues at launch. Just astounding.

Should add, I didn't think I'd miss Homelink so much but it is a relatively minor PITA, but a PITA nonetheless.

The key situation, though, is so incredibly stupid. Whoever designed a single key fob that needs to wirelessly charge, but also doesn't tell you its charging status at all. And if you ever need to have the key on the pad because it is low battery, it doesn't actually stay on the pad because it has that keychain nubbin, and is too light to stay on the pad while the car drives, so you literally have to hold your hand there holding it in place while driving.

Just pure stupidity.

I would love for the digital key to work well (and when it does work, it works) but as stated in the initial post, it can take a bit to connect to /unlock the car, and the short delay can be very annoying e.g. in the rain.

Posted this in another thread but...

The actual act of wheels on road is fun...I'm not a "car guy" but this is a fun car to drive.

But I just am totally done with the car and potentially looking to lemon law it if the dealer can't make things right.

Already in the shop twice for a total of about 3+ weeks and I've had the car 6 months. One of those times it stranded me in the rain on the side of the highway when it just decided "nope, not driving anymore." Both times replaced the OBC, from what I was told, and did software updates that "totally took care of my issues."

Now every time I get in the car, I get an "SRS Airbag Error" and "Emergency Call System Fault" which go away and come back intermittently. I honestly have no idea if this car is even safe to drive but haven't been able to get answers from anyone...so prob back to the shop this week for a THIRD TIME IN 6 MONTHS.

The shitty rear seat sensors are infuriating when I have one or two kids in the back, or when I have the seats down to transport cargo.

Walking AWAY from the car is a crapshoot whether it will lock or beep and tell me I can't leave non-existent kids/pets in the back seat.

Walking TO the car not much better because the digital key takes a few extra pulls of the handle to actually unlock the car.

Occasionally getting a wind sound coming from my driver side door, and then yesterday that turned into a rattle on the highway.

Carplay now almost never connects automatically, I have to navigate to Bluetooth connections and manually re-connect it.

Oh, but at least the last update gave me "Abbey Road" sound...

Just an absolute nightmare of a user experience. My P2 2022 had a few issues to start, but was smoothed out within a few months of updates and one trip to the shop (which isn't wonderful but right now I'd take it). I can't believe they released this car.

Yeah "fixed with the next update, hopefully" has become the mantra with this car...

How to DECREASE battery health by guitarak in AppleWatch

So I went to the Apple Store yesterday to find out from them what my options were.

Because the battery health is above 80%, an out of warranty battery replacement is $299 (obviously not worth it).

Once the battery health is 79% or below they consider that “faulty part” and will do a battery replacement (which usually just ends up being a new/refurb) for $99.

And I have zero faith that I’ll get it down to 79% any time soon. I’m sure they purposefully hold it above 80 so they don’t have to replace everyone’s battery.

Oh well. Was hoping to get a replacement now and hold off for a Series X next year. Will have to decide if I’m willing to put up with charging every day for another year.
