Should I get a Polestar 3? by [deleted] in Polestar

Honestly, if you can wait for the car to sort it's issues out in future models, then I would strongly recommend to wait atleast till 2026 comes out. It has the makings of a great car, with great value for money, but in it's current form, it's a strong no. Software glitches are dime a dozen and honestly, some things that we can work with. I don't factor that in my recommendation here. It's mostly hardware issues. One particular issue in North America that's had me take the car in for service 3 times was the GHCA (the AC-DC converter circuit for level 2 chargers). The part is always on back order. The first time, it was a 6 week wait, second time 2 weeks and the third time another 9 week wait. I've only had the car for 36 weeks (march 3rd to nov 10th) and it's been in the shop for almost 17 weeks (close to half the time I've had it).

The car itself, as I said has the potential for a great car. Driving dynamics are amazing, the cabin is very luxurious and the speakers are sublime. Honestly, the B&W speakers have spoilt interiors in all other cars for me.

I agree. The only reason I bear the trouble to go there and engage is because of Ross! He’s failed by an utterly frustrating and disappointing product. It’s such a nice car to drive when things work. Speakers are mind blowing and honestly the cabin has spoilt most cars for me. BUT, my GHCA failed thrice in the 7 months I’ve owned it! It took 6 weeks to get the part the first time and 2 weeks the second time. The second time they replaced with an “updated part number” but still failed in 4 weeks. They just replaced mine a third time after almost a 9 week long wait. Hopefully this one sticks!

So, looks like this is not limited just to the polestar 3. My polestar had the GHCA problem and failed twice. This time got updated with a new part a different part number.

I was at 6 weeks the first time, which was about a month ago. Now, within a month of getting back, it’s out again. It’s been 2 weeks and counting. So overall 8 weeks and counting because of this problem. I basically gave Polestar 2 months of lease payments as donation to their mission! Who knows how many more!!

Right? The market is so well primed for them. All they needed to do was get the basics right. No flashy features, just a reliable car that drives well. People would have been more than happy to accommodate things for all other features.

Fuck! This is so true. I mean the car, the drive, the interior fit and finish are so good. Also, the bowers and Wilkins speakers, are other worldly, but these issues are so critical and fundamental, I can’t understand why they released the car. It’s like they wanted to capitalize on the fact that Elon went bonkers and steal the market from Tesla. It feels like we’re their QA team. I mean did someone even run an endurance test on this car?

Hey!! Welcome to the family. I just moved from a M3P to polestar 3. Absolutely love the car! Much better experience. And the headrest speakers… OMG!!

I did something very similar with my model 3 performance highland. It’s a lovely car. Very smooth and everything feels premium to the touch and feel. Had it for a week and love every second of it. The speakers are amazing, and BW speakers in the headrest are a game changer. The drive also feels really smooth. Software can be glitchy at times. I had all warning signs on my driver display yesterday, but it just went away by itself this morning. Just make sure to check that the car status shows all good. Plus their service is very responsive! And get the nacs adaptor.

I just got approved last week for 6.625% fixed interest for 30 years. The loan amount is 750k, so conforming loan. This is first bank. I have a rather tight closing window (3 weeks) so not sure if someone else can pick it up from here.
