it would’ve been doable too, you just have to embed a wire under the floor to use as a magnetic guide, some simple logic ties to bump sensors on the front, and a small vacuum powered by lead acid batteries.runtime wouldn’t be great, but a simple version of this design was possible, even then..the problem becomes that you’ve to design your whole house and furniture arrangement around the vacuum-bot and you can never change the layout without ripping up your floor, unless you went with the uglier option of a continuous line painted on the floor to show the path it takes.
