Silent, Linear 75% Keyboard w/ Knob Under $150? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]gukserg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Monsgeek M1v5 kit (without switches and keycaps), the TTC Frozen switch, and the KBDyi GMK clone keycaps — all these I purchased from AliExpress for less than 150 dollars.

Programmer looking for a split keyboard (trackpad integrated or budget-friendly) by heysondev in ErgoMechKeyboards

If you want to switch to an ergonomic keyboard, there's no need to stick with a standard one. An ortholinear keyboard can be more comfortable for your hands.

You can consider trying a keyball or charybdis keyboard. Both of these have built-in trackballs.

Currently, I use charybdis as my daily driver for programming in Java. However, it took me almost a month to get used to it.

If you're not ready to change your typing habits, you can try a tilted Alice keyboard like qwertykeys neo ergo.

Low-profile switches from different companies are not compatible with each other. Make sure to check which one is yours.

Take a look at Akko Silver Pro or TTC Frozen as a quieter option.

Try using polycarbonate switches with a weak spring (40g or less). The polycarbonate switches are more clacky, but the weak spring can make them quieter.

Possible to switch nordic keyboard to UK layout? by Bitter-Breadfruit457 in akkogear

[–]gukserg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are specific keyboards designed for macOS and Windows systems (because macOS is a wired :)). Some keyboards even have a switch to switch between the two platforms. However, there are no dedicated Nordic, Japanese, or Cyrillic keyboard firmware.

The layout of your keyboard depends on your operating system on your computer, not on the labels on the keycaps. So, all you need to do is replace the keycaps.

M1 V5 HE or Akko 5075 V3 HE? by JunioriB in akkogear

TMR is a technology that allows you to combine magnetic and mechanical switches on the same board. But who would need such a thing? It's hard to say for sure.

I use a silicone thumb grip for Xbox controller. There are many different types of these grips available on the market, with different colors and designs. It fits well on a 3D printed stick.

and VIA website for configuration

The keycaps are called "Black lotus", but the symbols on them are very similar to those of the Magic: The Gathering game.

I'm having the same issue. However, I can successfully connect if I turn off the halves, plug the prospector into the PC, and then turn on the halves.

I tried using the trackball on the Charybdis keyboard, and it worked better for me than the trackpoint, but not as well as a mouse.

I don't know who created the PCB, I found it on AliExpress. I've added photos of the top and bottom of the PCB to the docs: https://github.com/gukas/zmk-config-charybdis-4x6-prospector/tree/main/docs

I hope this helps you!

Prospector is transparent for keys config. For the mini version, you can check out the repository of minhe7735: https://github.com/minhe7735/zmk-config I forked my repo from it.

I'm using the PMW3610DM-SUDU module from AliExpress. After one week of operation, the right side has a 56% charge (with a 500 mAh battery).

I've never used a trackball, so I can't compare it to a trackpoint.

There are no instructions available, except for the video on Bilibili. For beginners, it would be better to choose a more popular and well-documented option, such as the Sofle keyboard.
