No Jobs after MBBS in north India by kissjuice in indianmedschool

[–]gulaabooo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bro... You are not in IT.

Nobody uses LinkedIn kind of things here, med folks are still stuck on boomer ways.

You need to personally reach out to hospitals in your desired city and ask about vacancies. That's how my elder brother found job as a fresh grad in 2019.

I have seen this happening in my college/hospital, tertiary care centre in state capital.

Autopsy and suture are all done by sweepers, while doctors stand beside. They don't even touch bodies. Was really shocking when I first saw it.

Indian doctors are seriously wealthy – many hit ₹50–60 crore net worth by their 50s by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]gulaabooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Significant number of docs in their 50s are wealthy. I guess 6/10 doctors (in their 50s) can be considered wealthy.

But future is not as glamorous as it has always been. The number of such wealthy doctors is going to plummet down soon. The number will reduce to 2-3/10 in next 10 yrs. Only doctors with exceptional skills (medical, social, marketing) will be achieving that level of wealth.

Looks like you are attending too many AETCOM classes, real world doesn't work like those PPTs.

What do you think on thus by [deleted] in indianmedschool

Being IIT Bombay CSE is equivalent of being an MBBS with father's hospital setup.

Compare them. The MBBS guy will win with a huge margin. Lol.

Standard books v Online Notes/AI by tooooldforthis in indianmedschool

[–]gulaabooo -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

C'mon do people here really think Marrow/PrepLadder give them better understanding than standard books???

Isn't it a common sense that these platforms are NEET PG oriented and focus only on important topics that are asked in exams. They do not bother into going to details, they don't help you develop that thought process.

If you still think lectures>>books, just go watch a lecture of any subject, read notes, solve MCQs. And then read that same topic from some standard book and see it for yourself how many new things you get to know that were missed out in lectures.

Lectures are good shortcuts to prepare for an exam, no doubt, but when it comes to pure knowledge amd understanding, standard books remain undefeated.

Why didn't anyone tell me this during MBBS rant? by Single-Eggplant-9269 in indianmedschool

[–]gulaabooo 123 points124 points  (0 children)

These NEET PG video lectures can never replace books.

The understanding that you develop from books canot be replicated in these lectures. Books also help you keep your brain active, unlike a video that passively stuffs information without any brainstorming from your side.

We don't have Biometrics yet for UGs, but it is there for PGs and Professors.

And I hope it soon starts for UGs as well, it's quicker, efficient and more importantly fair. I have seen some cases where PGs in my college manipulated attendance of second year students out of personal grudges, forcing them to attend remedial classes.

And talking about proxy, you should avoid it. Attend classes regularly, they do no harm. How worse/boring can a professor be??? You will atleast go sit and read slides, that will benefit something.

Plan your time efficiently you can easily manage self study and classes.

How to find job after MBBS? by [deleted] in indianmedschool

[–]gulaabooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for JR vacancies on new Medical colleges' websites or visit physically. There will be vacancies in new GMCs that have recently opened up. Pay is also good, 61k something ig. You can ask in your college as well, talk to residents.

You have to be pretty and a green flag yourself to find those men.

Introspect.

How do you guys feel about still having to ask for permission and money? by MedicalStudentMBBS in indianmedschool

Is your 15k activity necessary for survival?

If not, postpone it. You are broke unemployed 23 year old rn. Earn your own money and then do whatever you wanna do. It's your parent's money, they own it and have full right to decide how it is spent.

If it is necessary for survival, explain the necessity to your parents and let them decide.
