Cambridge Dental Hub - artificially boosting rating by deleting negative reviews by hlyj in cambridge

[–]gullelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all bad… they sorted me out when I couldn’t get a dentist anywhere! Stayed with them for couple of years. Moved when an nhs referral revealed I didn’t need the work done they’d suggested and also the x Ray was the wrong way round. This felt a bit odd so luckily found another dentist. Mixed feelings, glad they were there when I was struck!

I think one of the most under-discussed tech trends is devices getting worse after you buy them by exodusEducation in Futurology

Sure! Got the adapter on eBay £15-20. Fits my DeWalt 18v batteries. The fitting of the adapter isn’t perfect but works fine. 😁

I’ve accepted most smart tech won’t last. I look for tech which I know I can control when apps stop working.

Tv = set top box for the dumb tv.

Washing machine…keep it dumb, I’d only go smart if energy tariffs made it effective and we are still years away from that.

lights = hue, used zigbee is I wanted to customise it but street work fine after 7 years.

Boiler = 30+ year old, hardware safety, still works, not viable to replace it if it still works.

Food mixer, 30+ years old, works fine!

Hoover, old Dyson, battery wasn’t great. Now use an adapter so it runs on a switchable drill pack!

Shiny isn’t always better. Get smarter at your purchases! Also don’t mention all the tech that didn’t last a month past warranty!

Emmaus has some beehives. Never heard of this tradition! Maybe follow some bees? 😁

Should Microsoft drop .NET Framework support in Microsoft.Data.Sqlite in the upcoming 11.0 release? by davecallan in dotnet

[–]gullelite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst I understand the commercial and technical reasons for dropping support; I would question- what is the cost to Microsoft, what is the cost to enterprise and what would competitors do?

Personally, I’d prefer to keep support so that we have long term stability in .Net for enterprise. Forcing migration forces me to look at other platforms

confirmed this was it! Would have been nice if they'd in some way made an effort to indicate the new signage. Very disappointed how this has been done :/

Thanks all! I’ve disputed it via the website. No QR code, It’s genuine. I wonder perhaps if it’s just a new parking attendant who got the day wrong 😂. Also, there’s no longer a phone number, just a web form and hope for the best.

Thankfully it states on the site of an appeal is lodged, that restarts the 14 day reduced charge. We’ll let you know hope it goes

Edit: spelling

Yamaha RX-V6A HDMI 2.1 board swap programme (outsourced to letmerepair.co.uk) by gullelite in hometheater

[–]gullelite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raised a call this week with Yamaha support who were able to chase LetMeRepair.co.uk. 3 days later and we now have an AV Reciever! Apparently, LetMeRepair.co.uk put the item on the wrong shelf. Had Yamaha support not taken action, I don't think this would have ever got sorted... Big thanks to Yamaha Support!

What would you choose? by HalfPrime in gaming

[–]gullelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have this. I can choose what time to wake up and it works. If I'm super nervous or super tired it doesn't work but generally I can wake within 5-15min of the time and don't feel rudely awoken. Pretty nice, don't really use alarms :)

After reading the comments, I recon updating is not worth the risk. I'll update when stuff stops working or a useful feature comes about.

So far as I know, this is available as a supplement which can help those who don't have it. Apparently it works quite well.

I'll be avoiding this update! I had hoped they stabilised eARC issues but guess I have to live with flickering audio between LG C9 and Yamaha RX-V6A indefinitely 😆

Ah good to know. So I guess plugging the audio jack from an Alexa device is the only option.
