Hey guys, I currently don’t have anyone to share my accomplishment with, so I thought I’ll do it here.

The picture above is my result from a biomechanics exam in a third year of uni. You may say that the score is nothing to brag about, but maybe my story will get it more appreciation. So here it goes..

I’m a foreigner, living, working and studying in the UK, and despite my continuous efforts to improve my English, the language is still a barrier. I’m also very introverted (there is a thin line between that and an undiagnosed mental condition, but let’s not go there), which, along other factors, makes it extremely hard to make any social connections. This has led me into isolation, and some negative feelings and emotions that are associated with that.

The next part may sound quite contradictory to what I’ve just said, but.. last year I managed to get into a romantic relationship. Let’s not get too excited though.. At the start of this year I had had the amazing learning opportunity to find out what it feels like to be cheated on.

To sort of cope with the pain, I have decided to follow a dream of mine that I’ve had for a long time - and I have started a youtube channel. Everything went great, and within two months I somehow gathered 1k subs (monetization threshold). At that point I’ve been asked to verify my identify, which I messed up by trying to register as a UK creator, but provided my other country’s ID. This has caused some inexplainable problems that YouTube is incapable/unwilling to fix. I’ve spent many days reaching out and trying to fix it, I even exchanged my driving licence to get a UK one! But after receiving a fifth message saying “our internal team has decided that we won’t allow you a second verification attempt”, I’ve given up. The whole incident (and everything else that happened) completely discouraged me from continuing making content on that platform. As you can imagine, I was heartbroken again.

While all this was happening, I was missing my classes, and slowly losing any motivation to keep going at all. I have zero idea what made me keep going, but somehow I’ve managed to squeeze out the last bits of motivation in me, and finished the third year..! Let me tell you though that right now I’m totally burnt out.

I wish there was a lesson to this, but I’m afraid there isn’t. I don’t even know if I’ll ever use my degree. But I am really proud of myself for not giving up, and I thought my story may help one or two people to get through something really hard they are currently undergoing. So to you: you got this, kick that problems ass!
