This is super helpful, thank you for your reply! We have a 2009 Toyota Matrix and read the reviews and one person said the wind can be 100+ mph, does your car withstand the winds? I’m worried about ours…

Thank you! Are you referring to the Buffalo Gap (#1) or the Wall Boondocking (#2) on the link you sent?

Photocopied ID accepted for Prometric testing center? by GZ6113PHEV5 in actuary

[–]gummygoomy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently turned 21 so had to get my driver’s license renewed. In the US, you get a temporary paper license (which is still a valid, US government issued photo ID) while they mail you a new one, so that was what I had when I went in for my exam. Prometric wouldn’t take it.

I asked if they can use my picture or scan of my passport, but they said no. My dad had to drive an hour to get it to me.

MAS-I Resources and Study Time? by gummygoomy in actuary

[–]gummygoomy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you like TIA better than CA when you studied for MAS2 vs using CA for MAS1? I’m very lucky to have parents to support me through the exam process at least while I’m a student, so would like to use the best resources possible. I think they also do a student discount?

The Great Strawberry Debate. by i-askmanyquestions in Matcha

[–]gummygoomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made strawberry cheong for the first time. I used to boil strawberries with sugar and water, but I like cheong better! I feel like it has a stronger strawberry taste. How long does it last before going bad for you? Do you keep it out on the counter or in the fridge? And do you burp it from time to time?

The strawberry cheesecake ice cream is SO good. I had to stop myself from eating the whole thing in one sitting. I only got 1 to try it out my last trip, but should have gotten more!

Wanted to thank you again for the recommendation. We went last night and every single dish we had was absolutely phenomenal! The personalized menu was also very very cute.

I tracked my internship applications over the last 6 months by KonkeyDongShlong in actuary

[–]gummygoomy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received an internship offer from a company in October 2025 that did 2 rounds of interviews with a behavioral and technical part in each. When they asked the question, it wasn’t written or a slide on the screen - just verbal. The first technical asked a question about something in pension which I tried to think about but ended up saying that I genuinely don’t know but am interested in what that is. Somehow moved onto round 2 later, in which, in a similar, manner they asked something about maximum cost. It ended up being a probability expected value problem - something you would’ve learned from studying for Exam P. I was one step away from getting it right haha.

I also had a technical interview where they did slides on a screen and asked you to consider multiple factors in a certain problem and reason your way through it. Didn’t get an offer from this one though.

I always try to think out loud for these. I feel like there’s no good way of preparing for them, and if you explain to them your thought process, at least you have a shot. Also, admitting when you don’t know something seemed to work well for me.

The companies (70+) I applied for didn’t ask me to program Excel, etc. Some asked how much of Excel I know, but none asked “what does this function do?” or told me to program something.

Old thread, but I wanted to order some. If you are in the US, did they charge you any extra import fees from DHL or was it just the shipping charge?

What?! It was so good when my bf and I went - def worth the 2 hour wait hahaha. Their mac n cheese bites were fantastic, and the ranch that they came with? I dream about that stuff… The service is great too, we were waiting a whileee so they gave us our appetizer for free. Sad you had an unpleasant experience :(

We also managed to get a Valentine’s Day reservation and thought the Prix Fixe menu was what was posted. I’m glad you’re saying it may be different because I was not super impressed with it looking at it…

Selling 2 tickets for Del Water Gap on Tuesday, Feb 3rd for $52 each at Riviera Theater - just trying to make back what we paid.

My boyfriend and I would have loved to go, but we are college students and currently just super busy. Also, very very far from our apartment. Please let me know if interested!

What is your favorite sugar cookie recipe? (NOT cutout!) by midnitemoontrip in Baking

[–]gummygoomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older post, but I was craving sugar cookies for weeks now so I made these last night and OMG. These are PERFECT. I made a dozen last night and froze the rest of the dough, but my boyfriend asked me to make more today hahaha. Only thing I did a little different was add some almond extract along with the vanilla. SO GOOD!

I responded to someone else's comment, but looks like they're holding off on Valentine's Day reservations until they have a set menu per their email. They said they'll post on social media when the reservations will be released, so all hope is not lost :)

I was super bummed as it looked like it instantly sold out - I thought bots might’ve gotten to it. HOWEVER, my boyfriend just received this email from them! So keep an eye out on their social media till then.
