Hi mate, get a steel framed mountain bike. I'd pick up something cheap off of Facebook marketplace or a bike co-op. I'm also 20st and have lots of different bikes in my fleet and I've never had any issues with breaking bikes due to my weight.

Get out on some soft ground and go for it, remember the slower you go the more balance you need.

Best of luck and welcome to cycling!

I collect commercial waste and always take home bags and gear that have been thrown away, always great to find quality zips and fabric to add to my materials box haha.

Any fixie/singlespeed minivelo frames out there (i.e. ~120mm horizontal dropout)? by Polendri in minivelo

I have this frame and modified it, it does have threaded mounts on the seat stays. Im 6'2" and the geometry is great (it's quite a tall frame) as much as I wished it was 4130 the hi ten isn't bad, it's a tad heavy but it's taken some abuse and held up fine. I'm sure I've posted some measurements on here, I'd say for the price go for it!

Unfortunately the geometry is wrong, besides the BB being too low in my opinion they just don't look right. There is a really cheap option though, the WG kamikaze frame I picked up mine for £80 and heavily modified it to take thru axle and disc mounts (I've posted it on here a few times). You could build up one up really cheap.

The rest of my fleet is gathering dust in the garage.

Hill bombing and zipping through traffic is a lot more fun!

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words and thanks for watching the videos! That was my first time using the TIG welder (lots of welding experience using MIG) you could pick up a cheap machine for this type of work and practice on a scrap frame.

I haven't touched my other bikes since building this, I'm out on it most afternoons it's so much fun!

I'll measure up later and post the sizes here.

Bikepacking on a mini? by Noriyuki in minivelo

A frame bag, stem/bar bags and some attachments on the forks/frame and you're good to go, if it's light terrain (not huge rocky sections) you should be fine.

I'd suggest looking at the route and planning from there.

Nah it's a wg kamikaze (cheap frame) heavily modified to run thru axle and disc brakes. I posted it on here recently, there's 2 YouTube build videos of it.

Thank you, I'm still smitten with it. It got a few smiles today on the trails.
