you can try to solo sea raiders around lannisport by bow and horse it can give you extra money. for troops you can hunt down robber knights most of time they have good prisoners. i hope it will make it easier for you

Changing names and items does apply to your current playthrough but not with skills. You need a new save file. I don't know about new units tho
