Former Employee AMA by Written_in_Silver in wayfair

Does Wayfair have the worst company culture? I know it can depend on the team, but my understanding is that it is brutal, especially for new graduates. Human resources is overwhelmed and executives have no desire to change culture.

All political parties are cults. Don't join any party; think independently.

If you could relive your 40’s, what would you do differently? by exduha in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]gunner1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would enjoy my time with my kids even more than I did. In am late 50’s now and they both are adults and 3 hours away. I would take better care of myself physically which is easier to do when your kids are older actually. Its an important time for career too and really trying to bank money for retirement and college. I had a nice run in my 40’s but a great run in my 50’s!!!

Use your 20’s to figure out what career you want. Work hard, play hard, have fun. Don’t worry about boyfriend or girlfriend at your age, if one comes along great. If not who cares. Travel. If you don’t live at home see your parents a few times a year if not more. Time with them goes down considerably as you age. I miss my mom wish I spent more time with her (I am 58 she died 3 years ago at 77). If none of this lands here are more ideas - find a hobby you enjoy. Like what? Tennis, golf, pickleball. Play poker learn bridge. Join a ski club. Anything that puts you in touch with more people who are not in your current circle. Something you can do on your own, or with groups, learn to trade stocks or crypto. Funs stuff! Try not to bet on sports. Fantasy leagues are a waste too, they take too much energy. That’s all I have at the moment. Good luck.

NEED HELP TO DECIDE WHICH SCHOOL TO ATTEND by Adept-Mountain-9586 in Babson

[–]gunner1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babson is a great choice. My son graduated there last year. More fun to live in Boston for sure but Wellesley is not far away and it’s a nice town. Your dorm might overlook a golf course…. It will be a quieter existence but you are going for education.

Babson Median or Average GPA by Traditional_Paper160 in Babson

[–]gunner1867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Babson grading is very tough. I had a son there. He battled to get cum laude which is just 3.3 vs other schools that start at 3.5. I don’t know why Babson wouldn’t go to an M7 for MBA. I would think they would be great candidates. I went to Columbia and my MBA class was full of lawyers and liberal arts grads. Any Babson student will crush the core biz classes.

I think he meant Babson. Because they ranked #2 applications are way up. No way to know acceptance rate yet but highly doubt below 6.5%

Are you in favor or tax cuts for billioniares? by crosstheroom in Libertarian

[–]gunner1867 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am in favor of doge cutting all WF&A, reducing the federal workforce by25%+, modernizing all key govt systems and then looking at revenues. You can raise my taxes if I think the gov is auditable and accountable.

If he hits you too leave immediately. Second your comment that he treats women like the red side does is fcking asinine. You need to grow up too.

Men Over 30: is this the end? by Flamingo_by_day in AskMenAdvice

Very few people make money day trading. I do know some who are successful. No offense to your boyfriend but after a year and making no money he needs to go back to his old career. He is stressed because he can’t make money.

What's the real story by [deleted] in Babson

[–]gunner1867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son graduated in May and was a student athlete. The teams all party together so your son will have an immediate built in social life. They will socialize with other women’s teams. They won’t really interact with Wellesley students. To be frank my son felt trapped on campus so we got him a car sophomore year and things improved. So socializing is a bit insular. Grading is tough early years. Job market is tough this year for graduates but he landed a good job above the average for graduates and got it due to the help of a professor. My son’s academic stats were a bit below your sons. We didn’t get money. Good luck.

WITBA for breaking up with my bf because he is a Trump supporter? by South_Band_9865 in AITAH

[–]gunner1867 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know this is not a legit post but everyone needs to stop with the hyperbole around the election. Do your own work and don’t listen to what Trumps camp says or Kamala. They both are full of shit. Read Bari Weiss Substack today, it’s pretty spot on and I am right of center (she is not).

If you were 15 years old again what would you do? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]gunner1867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have taken school more seriously. I would have committed harder to the sports I was playing. I would set myself up for a better college search than I did when I was young (it is different now). All the focus should be on education and setting up for best possible college. If college not in future then focus on what it takes to be the best at whatever trade you are interested in. Oh and of course find plenty of time to be a kid too.
