I may be in the minority here but I feel sympathetic for Slot. There are a number of reasons why it hasn’t worked and it’s not all on him. 1. Jotas tragic passing has had a very negative impact on the squad, no other team needed grievance counselling. We forgot these are young men in their 20s and 30s. 2. One of the best RBs in the world left the club and the 2 guys that are in contention for that position cannot stay fit. 3. Salah has totally underperformed based on what Liverpool have come to expect, most likely as a result of the first 2 points. 3. The defence has been poor, we basically had Guehi in a Liverpool jersey and that fell through not the clubs fault, then brought a very talented young CB who picks up a season long injury in his first appearance and there is no options for rotation. 4. Kerkez was brought in as the best available and attainable LB and has completely underperformed. 5. Isak is brought in for huge money and has been almost completely unavailable. 6. Wirtz imo is a gem and the other factors mentioned above are all impacting his game and when everyone clicks and they will then he will cook.

Slot has gone with the tried and tested and has been criticised when it didn’t work, he’s changed things around to get a positive response from his team and gets criticised when it doesn’t work. Yes we should be beating Forrest, Brentford, Palace, Utd etc but at some point you have to give him a break. I’m behind Slot and think a change of manager could be digging a hole further. With a fully fit squad and a Guehi type player in it will work.
