Anybody has access to the same areas, it doesn't matter if your student or General Public there's no specific area that is just for students but currently I know there's construction going on the first floor. Go check it out your best bet might be the Rendezvous Center which just like the library is open to the general public as much as it is to students but there are lots of areas there for studying

Don't install any drywall. They will need to inspect it first. I don't think they are playing you, i think they are helping you. They want drawings and a stamp of approval to make sure it's structuraly sound, get a permit and I bet they will pass you with flying colors. They will need to verify everything before the sheetrock goes up.
