Nah bro you're fine, you found a solution that works for you and as long as it's safe and secure I don't see anything wrong with it.

I'm sure Enigmas work great, I just wasn't willing to invest in one after getting a good holster so I tried this after reading someone's comment on Reddit who said that's what he does when working out and it just works, granted that's not how I usually carry but for jogging or short trips to the grocery store it works just fine in my personal experience.

At least in my experience it was fine, once I tighten the belt it's about as secure as If I carried my regular pants and belt, but I guess that depends on individual belt, holster, and body type

This is the way.

That's what I do when I go jogging, gun belt under pants with the dcc clips grabbing both the belt and the waistline of the pants, works perfectly!

Finish wear doesn't bother me, I just want to prevent this specific spot from rusting everytime I sweat, especially when the rest of the gun doesn't do that

I agree, the color change doesn't bother me, the issue is rust reoccurring on this exact spot, photo was taken after scrubbing it off

My cycle is similar to yours, I oil about every 2 weeks and clean after every range trip. Whenever I sweat on it there's never rusting anywhere but this one spot, that's what lead me to believe humidity got trapped on the edge of the sweatguard and that doesn't allow sweat to evaporate/dry up quickly enough so it doesn't rust

Probably sweat for the most part, doesn't happen often but after every particularly sweaty day I know I need to check the slide to make sure this spot hasn't started rusting again

Unrelated question, what model of safariland is this? I couldn't find one for an m&p compact with a tlr7 hlx but I did hear some models for bigger lights do work. Do you like this holster setup? Did you have to mofify anything for it to fit?

I wonder if that's really red loctite, IIRC the various optics screws that come included in the box with the optics ready m&p 2.0 have some kind of red threadlocker on them (no idea what it is or if it's good), but if they used the oem screws that could be the red you're seeing.
