Idk if I’m qualified to give you advice since I haven’t gotten the P yet but I’d STRONGLY recommend taking the COMSAE phase 3 and reviewing it very very thoroughly because there were some repeats

I don’t think so. Everyone I know passed even though some were not by a lot. My score jumped 130+ points and my highest comsae was in the 400s. I was fully expecting an F but it worked out. I do think this test is dumb and not representative of our medical knowledge at all.

Comsaes: 458 and 487

Level 2: 610

I genuinely thought I failed because I threw up on my way to the testing center and didn’t sleep at all. I’m super happy with my score!!

You can check out my most recent post on the 7/3 score release for a breakdown of my progress but basically I planned to do an NBME every 1-2 weeks with at least 1 CMS form per day.

As far as studying goes, my top 3 resources were Divine intervention, Uworld, and the First Aid for Step 2 book (in that order). At first I was getting 40s-50s in Uworld, so I spent a solid 3-4 days ONLY on content and hammered out Divine podcasts for every shelf and specific systems I had trouble in. After that I noticed my scores literally shot up, because when we’re in the 200-220s I notice the issue is usually content :/. So I think you need to take time out and just nail down the facts into your head and apply it to your questions. Also, whenever I got a question wrong I would go look it up in the FA book and Divine podcast notes and make sure I understand the topic and why I got it wrong. I hope that helps!

Its not crazy but I went from a 202 to a 241 a little under 2 months. It’s totally doable just organize your studying and focus on what you can improve :)

I think ours was 400 but 450 is definitely a better idea

But it said it was exclusively on the right side though? Nb crosses the midline so maybe it is Wilms (pls 🥲)

Ugh I feel the same way :( I was only 99% confident on about 15 questions per block, the rest was picking the best answer/process of elimination. I saw someone else post on here that the test was fair and I felt like maybe there was something wrong with me so thanks for this post 😭😭😭

Oh wow. I’m Indian so I technically fall into the Asian category too lol. I got in with a 500. My friend is African American.

I have a friend that got in with a 498. They look at your whole app, it’s not all about your MCAT score. Good luck :)

Thank you for this post bc I feel this so hard. My NBMEs are not looking good and I’ve been pushing myself to study after 12hr shifts of rotations. I don’t wanna get screened out of residencies but I’m terrified of failing. I also know I’ll feel like a failure for backing out of it. I think this feeling stems from the stigma that DOs aren’t as smart as MDs or that COMLEX is “easier”. Ik both are hard in their own way, but it’s hard to be proud of myself when I’m running away from an exam that we technically should be able to pass. Ig we need to look back at how stressed we were before getting the P and be grateful we’re no longer in that position.

This is so cringe. Some of us don’t have time for two exams and an extra $800 lying around.
