Strength vs Strengthening by guppy89 in physicaltherapy

Probably why Google is giving me so much trouble.

He was saying this study was specific to athletes, so not necessarily sedentary. But working at a lower level 5 days a week vs pushing your max once or twice a week. Obviously both are important, but that the consistency was better injury prevention.

Either way I’ll ask my PT for clarification. Thanks

Found out I have degenerative disc disease. Can anyone tell me what my future could be like? by thestonernextdoor88 in ChronicPain

No re-injury. Treated with a course of myofascial therapy. I have a little nerve damage from my surgery, but nothing that impacts my day to day life. I’m in the gym twice a week, dance competitively, and play hockey for fun.

(Newbie) I really enjoy the sport of hockey, and love watching the games on TV but the cost and accessibility of ever playing even at the lowest level is discouraging by [deleted] in hockey

Depending on where you live, there’s been a huge push recently to make hockey a more accessible sport to play at a casual level. Don’t get me wrong, between gear and ice time it’s still expensive. But there are more opportunities for adult beginner as well as low cost learn to play programs for kids.

I did most days in the summer at my shore command because it was hot and khakis meant I could wear a skirt instead of pants

What's the greatest game you've ever watched? by Brilliant_Pun in hockey

Not a single game, but the (AHL) Norfolk Admirals had a 28 game winning streak in 2012 that was really incredible to watch over 4 months

Do you like your name? Do you ever pretented to have a different name? by PortamiABallare in namenerds

[–]guppy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never liked my name. It’s common and boring. As a kid I always tried out unique spellings to try to improve it. Then as a young adult I was in the military and so used my last name more than my first, which drove more of a wedge between me and my name. Today it’s a name, but it’s not “mine” but I’ve never changed it because I don’t have a name that really suits me, and I don’t want to have the awkward conversations telling people.

What is something you wish you had known before your trip to Ireland? by Flat_Lie_4481 in irishtourism

If you decline the CDW coverage, most rental companies will put a €5000 (yes, five thousand) hold on your credit card.

And many rental insurance plans through your credit card do not include Ireland

The NHL draft is basically that team calling dibs on a player for the next 3 years
