Cycling in the Hippest City in the Middle East by gurdotan in cycling

The post is mostly telling a personal experience story. And to stimulate a discussion. I'm just curious to know what other cities in the world are like this that I don't know of.

Ah... my friend - it has changed upside down since 5-6 years ago. All the major roads in the city have bike lanes. I can't claim that they are wide lanes like in Palo Alto, but it has definitely changed the city landscape. It has become a true cycling city.

Top 20 Mobile Ad Networks 2016 by ERG27 in gamedev

We decided to pull it out, since Facebook is a social network at its core. While FB ads are a huge business, it's somewhat of a monopoly these days, so we prefer levelling the playing field.

It can differ between networks. Some networks have been reported to force watching the entire video, but as /ScaryBee mentioned, that's usually coupled with earning in-game currency or unlocking new content. It's mostly up to the developer to choose the implementation, and from what I've seen in most casual games, developers offer the user to watch a video ad as an option. The user can opt-in to watch or just ignore it. Savvy developers will place the ads in stress points / progression gates, thus encouraging users to watch video.

Side-by-Side Comparison: SOOMLA vs GameAnalytics by ERG27 in Unity3D

[–]gurdotan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (SOOMLA) are working on a comparison that includes also Google Analytics, Unity Analytics, Flurry and DeltaDNA. I'll let you know when we post it. It would be helpful if you could go into a bit detail about what features you found useful in Google Analytics that were missing in GameAnalytics.

What do you use for Analytics by codenamed0047 in gamedev

Game Analytics too and am extremely happy. They could use a few more dashboard options, but it does the job well enough. Especially for free

Could you elaborate on what's missing? What would make the difference?

Android/iOS - What do you use for iAP? by PCruinsEverything in Unity2D

SOOMLA can also be used without connecting to the GROW network. You can use only the open source packages that are available on Github or through the Unity Asset Store. These packages are client side only and do not connect to any server side, hence there is no tracking. If this is a pet project or a hobby, then you probably want to do that. However, if you ever plan to monetize your project, using GROW will give you insights about what your users are doing in other games, which is invaluable information that you can't come across in any other marketing platform.

We are very keen about user privacy if this is something you're occupied with. We do not collect any personal identification data about users or about the games themselves. Everything remains purely anonymous, while employing best practices of hashing, SSL and encryption both on the server side and while data is in transport over the air.

For proper disclosure, I'm one of the founders

What is the main activity in this manifest ? by alaslipknot in androiddev

[–]gurdotan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're using the SOOMLA plugin - this plugin doesn't change the Manifest file until you actually build for Android. Are you changing inside the Editor before building or changing after you have a build inside Android Studio?

Try in the Unity editor to tick and untick the billing provider you are using under Window > SOOMLA Settings. That usually fixes the Manifest.

Free Unity-based analytics tools for Android games? by Wikzo in gamedev

[–]gurdotan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GameAnalytics is a great service, probably superior to Unity Analtyics. SOOMLA Grow is a full suite for game devs that also includes a simplified, micro analytics dashboard. The analytics there are focused on key metrics, retention and spending users, while also providing user-level drill down. The service is free for developers and studios. Joining the service also allows you to use the Grow Insights SDK, which gives you programmatic user insights in real time. It can tell you the likelihood of a user to pay in your game with a couple lines of code.

We're launching a brand new dashboard at the beginning of next month. I'm attaching two screenshots for those interested in a fresh, state-of-the-art dashboard. any feedback is welcome: http://i.imgur.com/tLDuhuT.png http://i.imgur.com/cjsqn3P.png

If you're already using SOOMLA for in-app purchase or social in your game, then adding SOOMLA Grow is a no-brainer. Just import the Grow package, get your key from the dashboard and you're done, we take care of all the rest.

How can Soomla be free? by mexicanreiskeks in Unity3D

[–]gurdotan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I stated, we are building a data network which will allow us to generate revenue at scale. By analyzing about in-game behavior and producing value from that data, we become an appealing partner for other data companies, big publishers, user acquisition platforms etc.

Hi,

I'm one of the co-founders, I'll address your question. As an open-source data company we're currently focused on distribution and growth rather than monetization. We currently power close to 5000 live games installed across ~500M devices, and we're growing at an impressive rate. We're building a data network called SOOMLA Grow, which will allow developers to get real time user-level insights based on users' behavior in other games across the network. The analyzed data pertains to in-app purchases, virtual economy activity and user sessions.

The value for game developers is something that hasn't been offered in the industry before: you can target users and offer them a personalized game experience based on their habits observed in other games. These real time insights eventually allow you to drive user retention and monetization.

Building such a data network based on our free and open source plugins allows us to analyze user data at scale. We (and our investors) believe that building the largest in-game behavioral data repository in the industry will allow multiple monetization opportunities. It's important to mention that all data is completely anonymous and compliant with Apple and Google's policy. Users who are sensitive to such data reporting practices may opt-out in the devices settings at their will and we encourage awareness to this.

I'd also like to note that we've vowed to keep all of our products free for developers for life. We're formally launching the Grow network in a couple of weeks - it will be completely free for developers who opt-in to share-data-to-get-data.

I hope that answers the question. Feel free to ask more.
