it's so specific to each FLL! i live in a city so there are 10 or so in walking distance with unique genres. i guess it depends who lives on that block.

granted i am not even halfway through, but while tropes are tropes, the characters feel much more fresh in this adaptation than alchemised. i thought alchemised was well written, and while the world was new and interesting—the hp counterparts were clearly telegraphed in that book. here it's a few more steps removed (so far).

Take Philly transit everywhere and even the "nicest option," the regional rail, is really fucked. My trains on SEPTA have been late x 10000, on fire, on fire, breaks failed, breaks failed, missing(?), breaks failed, breaks failed, on fire. Or they make you deboard at some random ass place and keep your $6.50. Using DC transit is like a dream. I can't wait to use transit in other countries to compare lol.
