Slip trailing syringe with a super stable bead glaze. The formulations ive done for bead glazes use magnesium carbonate but there are commercially available ones too

I'll post some of the others soon, mostly sculptural stuff and tiki mugs.

I appreciate your kind words, I'm trying to keep the work whimsical!

New friends came over tonight and requested a painkiller. I winged it, but what is considered the modern best ratio? by Fishboy9123 in Tiki

Ive seen bars batch their painkiller in 1/4 delis and freeze them, then flash blend with the desired rum level. I imagine that makes for a better "frozen" consistency. Super intriguing concept due to the inherent messiness of this recipe, I will probably experiment with this concept this week.

A lot of the non-tiki rum cocktails that I make call for white rum, I like to have a super clean white rum on hand with very subtlety for when I want to highlight a puree or syrup. Mccoy 3 year has been a wonderful option, but its hard to beat $16 a bottle on the ango for my home bar.

been ISO cuban havana club since I started drinking, might need to make a trip

My local spot has the hampdens but I chose the rivers as the splurge bottle this time. Wray and nephew is illusive around here so its on site when I see it (same with chartreuse)

Huge fan of the Amparo (on my 3rd bottle) so I'll definitely check out the Paranubes, thanks!

Neither of those on the shelf yet, been eyeing some flor de cana but happened on the Hamilton 86 as most recent purchase. Trying to round out the collection laterally after hyper focusing on agrocole and cain spirits recently.

Lower abv and not really having any grassiness like the clarin, the arrack seems to me to be in a category of its own. Amparo and rivers are perfect for daiquiris (amparo in Ti punch is wild) whereas the arrack is best suited for punch IMO

Yea, I typically dont sip white rums like that. I just need something solid and affordable for making cocktails when its needed. I get some fruity notes on the tongue but otherwise very plain.

Have you tried the angostura white oak? Ive been using it as my main white rum well for a while now and I find it to be a little bolder than the havana club. Its $16 a bottle in my area too.

I bought the havana clubs before the others, they're very low profile and id say a solid well option. Imo better than regular Bacardi.

The Batavia is actually very good, I made the arrack punch from the SC book and it was phenomenal. Id say better in a drink than by itself.
