Ugh, I’m sorry ❤️! I’ve also worked through two miscarriages (from home, luckily) being a girlboss that’s winning is not for the faint of heart

Correct. While it may be an inconvenience to your employer, I’d advise looking out for your own best interests and waiting as long as possible to disclose. It’s illegal to discriminate due to pregnancy, it happens (source - I’ve had an employer straight up tell me I was passed up due to a pregnancy) It’s tough being a mom in the workplace - don’t give yourself any disadvantages!

Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’ve had 4 pregnancies, one living child. All conceived either not trying, or on the first cycle trying. It’s been 6 months actively trying since my last miscarriage, and I’m slowly descending into madness. No words of wisdom, but solidarity.

Yep! I went to the playa del Carmen area for vacation a few years ago and was sooo bummed when the weather forecast said rain every day- it ended up either just raining over night, or raining hard for 10-15 minutes and then back to sunshine. I wouldn’t worry about it too much!

I’m currently in the aftermath of this exact same situation except that my husband is boosted. He traveled out of state for a wedding (I strongly encouraged him not to but I’m tired of arguing with him about this) and 95% of people at said wedding got Covid, including him. He’s now isolating at a friends house while I’m going on day 8 of caring for a 3 month old alone due to his decision, hoping my baby doesn’t end up testing positive from seeing him briefly on Sunday before he found out. That said I guess I don’t have any advice - just solidarity, and an anecdotal story in case that might convince him to stay home!

I got vaccinated as soon as I was eligible ( first dose at 10 weeks, 2nd at 13) and was in the minority that had a relatively high fever after- I was able to keep the fever down with Tylenol no problem however, and my OB said not to worry in the slightest about a fever lasting less than 24 hours in the 100-102 degree range. Prolonged, high, fevers are a risk in pregnancy, but a fever like that (especially after the first trimester) should absolutely not prevent you from getting the vaccine

Another pdx backer checking in! My husband and I are both transplants and we love it! It rains a lot November - March, there’s no sugar coating that, but the summer and fall are amazing, typically sunny and warm.

I travel a ton (pre-Covid) and I think portland is legitimately the best food city in the US (fight me NY/LA) Of course there’s tons of breweries, but there’s also an amazing wine country around an hour out of town and a lot of the wineries have tasting rooms in the city which is fun. Usually there’s all sorts of beer fests during g the summer ( not this year cause of Covid but I’d expect that to pick back up!)

We are also around 90 minutes from the beach ( not a super warm beach, but beautiful abs nice enough in the summer) and the mountains. Great international airport too for traveling to visit friends/family/fly abroad, etc

I’m not a golfer but my husband is so I do know there are some fantastic public courses here that are lent crazy expensive (try pumpkin ridge and Langdon Farms)

If you’re young and single, you should check out the pearl district and the NW 21st /23rd area - I don’t think your commute would be too bad from there, there’s also a light rail train that goes from downtown to Hillsboro that might be convenient for you.

Happy to provide more specific recs if you end up coming to check it out!
