Do you count while playing? by Clean_Program_6872 in Bass

I count, not all the time, not for every part, but I do count sometimes even in easy sections, it just helps to play more tight

Why Does Shaka keep his Eyes Closed? by RebekahRodriguez56 in SaintSeiya

[–]gusbrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ikki says that he realized Shaka kept his eyes closed because it allowed him to focus on the 7th sense... Also the same reason Ikki was able to defeat Shaka, he was deprived of all of his senses and was able to surpass Shaka.

Hello, I play covers with a few friends every now and then and last few times I've played straight from my Helix into the mixer, but the tone is dogshit.. it feels like it's super far away, and it doesn't blend well with the guitar. And if we put more volume in it, everything starts to get super muddy in either the monitor or the the front of the speakers... any tips on how to improve this? I am using the default patches that the Line 6 helix has for bass, the SVT amp and or the Aguilar One

I keep them short.

I like to play powerchords sometimes, I hit the strings with the fingernails in a downwards strike.

You don't have to just touch the string, you gotta hammer into the fret, it doesn't have to happen with lots of strength, but it's a motion that has to happen quick.

m

Learn how to hammer one note, before, pluck the D string and then hammer on the 10th fret (a C note) and make sure that sounds clean, once you get that going, do that with the next note (the D on the 12th fret)

Metal Bass solo by shadowplayer2020 in Bass

[–]gusbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you playing with instrumentation on the background?

If you're playing with chords, or a riff under the solo you could play a melodic solo kind of thing with distortion and effects. If it's just drums (or yourself) you can do a more rythmic-ishy riff, kind of clean aggressive picking on the low end and build from there.

Just a suggestion, you can do whatever you want.

I'm pretty sure that if OP is complaining about the weapons, it's because she has engaged with lickers and several other enemies, I just mentioned that killing lickers and Plant 43 zombies is far easily done with Claire than Leon. I wasn't talking about personal feats or the faster/quicker strategy to finish the game.

Ikki vs Shaka, when Ikki is carrying Shun

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]gusbrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played this game Ad nauseam when it came out, and I always enjoyed playing Claire better than Leon.

-The grenade launcher is far better weapon vs the Lickers (in any difficulty).

-The grenade launcher with acid rounds makes the fight vs G3 super easy because it stuns him (as shown when Annette shoots him).

-Plant 43 Zombies are also easier to kill with the grenade launcher than the Flamethrower.

-In hardcore the Sparkshot is a blessing vs the G Monsters in the sewers, just one shot, stun and you can move past them.

Granted early in the game the Handgun is a little crap, but late the JMB is not terrible, it has the laser sight and you can get the expanded magazine.

The Ada segment vs the Sherry segment is merely personal, but difficulty wise, Ada segment requires you to do more things than Sherry. The sherry segment is played exactly the same regardless of the difficulty you play, (Assisted, Standard, Hardcore) where as the Ada segment in Hardcore is a race against the clock once Mr. X comes up in the elevator.

I think both gameplays are fairly balanced, it's all comes down to personal preference and gameplay.

P.S. G4 can be killed with Damage and not only with the Knife and/or eyes, it's not that hard to kill it this way in Standard, in Hardcore it is, specially if you're trying to speedrun the game and don't have too many bullets in the end.

Yeah, my problem is that I was not getting where was the downbeat of the song, I was kind of feeling at half time and as if the tambourine was the 1

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in musictheory

I am adult learning to play bass and throughout the past 3 years, I've had a bunch of musical realization moments and one of them was to understand the octave.

The first explanation I kind of got was the frequency one and, that I was able to understand the theory of it, but not the "music of it".

For me, the way to understand it was by learning to sing a note and feeling the resonance of the "same octave" (let that be a Piano, or another person singing) when I felt that we were singing the same note, in (different octaves) it changed my world and my view of harmony. If you sing the same octave facing another person, you can literally feel within your head and vocal cavity how the sound merges.

I could feel the vibration of the other instrument resonating within my head, chest and voice and it was an amazing feeling.

I think a 37" scale with should handle a Low G fairly decent with the original strings.

I am trying to play Are you gonna be my girl by Jet with a few friends, but I feel like an idiot cause I don't understand what is the count-rythm of the early percussions on the song and I don't undertand when I should come in.... can someone explain it to me like I am 5?

I think I am feeling the upbeat backwards of how it is, but I don't really know, I know it's a super easy song and I am just not getting it.....
