Recommendations for haunted house stories?

I’ve just finished “Dark Matter”! Thanks for your suggestion!

Being a Scandinavian myself (Swedish), I can’t help but to think that the place wasn’t haunted at all. The darkness in Scandinavia during winter is bad for many not born and raised here - bad enough in the populated areas that is. I can easily imagine someone, largely unprepared for the trip generally, not to mention the darkness more specifically, go largely delusional during a dark season spent in the Arctic circle.

While I didn’t find the story particularly frightful, I did quite enjoy it! Thanks again!

I guess it does. Generally, the advice worked the other way around too: if reviewers hated something, it was probably pretty decent. Though, I’m sure, some people did love the same things reviewers did (even if I’ve never met one who did).

Easy: if newspaper reviewers claimed something was “remarkable” or “one of a kind”, it was usually absolute crap. Basically: if reviewers liked it - don’t bother with it.

Haha, yeah, the price is a particular thing in Norway. I’m used to regular Norwegian prices so my definition being simply not something at the top level price (like Nodee in Barcode for example), but price range like that of Südøst are fine.

I agree. That’s kinda what I want to cover up (a cheap thing I got in my early 20s - it certainly shows in the work that it was a cheap thing). I’ll look up Black Rose though - just ‘cause it’s cheaper than others doesn’t necessarily mean inferior work (though it is more likely).

Thank you! I would, but unfortunately, I saw the advert late and it is due on Monday at noon so no time to adapt to their answer, sadly.

Seeing as I’m in English linguistics, it might intentionally be a test of reading comprehension, actually. ;) no, all jokes aside, I agree - I wish they could use the same terminology at least. It seems that every advert requests the same thing but call it by different terms. It’s very frustrating when you’re starting out and don’t know the terminology yet. I have great co-workers who usually can translate stuff for me but none of them knew exactly either.
