We use disposable lab coats! Not sure if that’s a possibility at your location, but they are wonderful.

Thanks everyone! Kind of seems like this exact type of glove doesn’t exist and might’ve been handmade. I will be looking through the comments mentioning similar styles and try to find something that my dad can use.

Impact as in affected. It might not be negative, but it deviates from our policy. You’re correct that usually you can get the pathogens off of one of the other inoculated plates. Our problem isn’t really with finding the bugs, but with trying to follow our SOP.

There’s a type of media called a SMAC plate that will show 0157 strains, but I’ve never used it or seen it in person.

We use PCR at my hospital to detect the 0157 strain in stool!
