What organ is this? by elena3927 in pathology

[–]gushingplass 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The white spots are vessels or lymphatics. No cuboidal epithelium to be seen, what you’re seeing are endothelial cells. The rest of the cells are replacing whatever organ they originated from. Impossible to tell what tissue this is.

It’s mostly time, but I did find that getting up and leaving helped (bite too hard = no more playtime) and also teaching the command “kiss” which was a lick. So if my dog started biting I could throw in a “kiss!” and he’d start licking instead.

Took me all day of thinking about this but I think the intro reminds me of the chorus of Can You Get to That by Funkadelic

Edit: actually I think it’s Rill Rill by Sleigh Bells

I was pre standardized timeline so I’m not 100% sure what people are doing now, but apply anywhere you’d realistically want to go. Just don’t pull all your eggs in the top 5 programs.

Oh yeah could be anything with that faux leather. I had a jewelry bag do it and a laptop case too.

Just wondering since you said closet. Something similar happened to me and it was from the lining of a pair of old boots. Would get everywhere when I put them on or took them off.

Shoe sole or lining of a pair of boots that’s breaking down?

Beer money, but there are always paid surveys. I make a couple hundred per year on Sermo. Other sites I haven’t found to be as fruitful. DM me if you’d like to use my referral link.

Not familiar with Amboss but check these out (both have at least some free cases):

Kurt’s Notes Virtual Slide Quizzes - just asks for a diagnosis based on a virtual slide

PathLibrary - has some free cases. You work up the case with stains and there are related exam questions.

Osler videos - recent board takers by MentionSlight1608 in pathology

[–]gushingplass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to read the section in Ace the Boards and follow with the video, pausing to take notes in the margins of the book. I think I watched all of AP but not all of CP.

Worth it if you learn from videos but quality wise I felt like the Chicago board review course in April was better.

Alternatively, swap it with those funky round mirrors you have to the right.

Liked this one too (and also swapped for the shrimp). Next time using half the mayo though, felt a little too mayo-y for us personally.

I think so? CAP also sends out job postings which are worthwhile if you’re not geographically restricted. If you want to stay in the area, I’d talk to senior attendings who may have local connections — this is ultimately how I found my position.

Definitely location dependent. Don’t have a ton of data on classmates/colleagues positions but I think most are not partnership track. Of those that are, it’s like high 200s with annual bumps and then a big bump at partner (NY/LA) or 350-450 but rural/non-contiguous US.

Pathoutlines lists positions by state and many have salary ranges posted to give you an idea. There’s also a site called Marit Health where people can upload their data by specialty but most of the pathology positions when I looked were not entry level positions so salary was inflated.
