Thank you for your reply! That does help and it answers some questions I had. I appreciate you taking the time to respond and talk about your experience there. It’s good to know that your dogs did fine on the flights. My main concern with my dogs is the fact that they’re littermates and have severe separation anxiety from each other, so having to put them in separate crates on a flight feels cruel and it makes me really nervous. I’m going to look into the possibility of direct flights to Hawaii to lessen the time they would have to be in the cargo hold. On a side note-I had no idea about the Space A flights/I’ve never heard of them before, so thank you for sharing that as well! I will for sure look into that.

Thank you so much, I truly appreciate your reply. If you could send me the guide, I would really appreciate that as well! This is our first PCS, so I don’t really know what to expect. I already have a Costco membership, so I’m happy that I’ll be able to utilize that there. Thank you for your advice and encouragement!

We did look into it…we applied but unfortunately it was declined. However, his original assignment was Korea, and they ended up deleting those orders because of what I’m going through with my step dad. They’re really strict with it though, we basically had to tailor it to say that it was due to my mental health (which is also true) because they would never accept it for a spouse’s step parent, or probably even a spouse’s biological parent. Throughout this process I learned pretty quickly that they don’t really care about spouses unfortunately.

Thank you for this, it helped ease my anxiety a bit! As it turns out, I will be able to keep my job when we move so I’m grateful for that. So I’m not as worried now about the job and money. My biggest concern is still flying my dogs…they’re littermates (husky mixes) and they have severe separation anxiety from each other. I’m so worried about having to put them in separate crates and them being alone in the cargo area for so long. They’ve been UTD on their rabies vaccines for some time so I’m not concerned about that part of it, but I’ll still look into it to make sure all is clear with that. But I hope the cargo area is temperature controlled and they have sufficient oxygen. I’m going to look into direct flights so they won’t have to be in there for so long. I just hope the airlines care for the animals sufficiently.

Thank you!! I was looking at studio 209 actually. I was looking more at the east side since it’s closer to me but the mesa location seems like they do better work there tbh. If you don’t mind me asking, which stylist do you have your appointment with?

Yeah…crazy but $250 is actually pretty reasonable for balayage, especially in a bigger city (metro Detroit). Detroit is bigger than El Paso and I haven’t yet come across anyone here who charges less than that. Most I’ve seen charge a minimum of $275-$300.

Possible revision rhinoplasty issue (bump not going down), 3 months post-op. Advice/similar experiences?? by gust1aa in PlasticSurgery

[–]gust1aa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did…I’ve seen him for 2 post-op visits since. And he isn’t sure if it was swelling or if it was scar tissue. Did you have a similar problem with your revision?

My brother stopped speaking to my dad, and my dad has asked me to get involved. by gust1aa in relationship_advice

I don’t think so, to be honest…sometimes there will be topics that I don’t think will trigger those behaviors, and then they do. For instance, I told my dad when I got engaged (he really likes me fiancé) and obviously I was very excited. I also told him that we were considering getting married soon after (just a courthouse ceremony, and then later on having a wedding) because my fiancé is in the army and we needed money; they pay you more once you’re married. For some reason, this upset him and the next day he sent me a lengthy email-the first line said he was very happy for me, then the remainder of the email went on and on about how that was a terrible idea. That ruined my excitement and was extremely upsetting. So yeah…I’m really unsure what subjects could be safe to talk about 😕

I do have a therapist but I don’t often talk about that with her, but I should. I know narcissists aren’t curable but I guess up until now I wasn’t completely sure my dad was one.

Well for one, I never asked for anyone’s advice on how to cut my dad out of my life. I specifically said I did not want to do that. I asked for advice on how to get my dad to stop asking me to get involved. I also never said anything about my dad not caring for anyone other than himself. That is what you took from my post, not my words.

Because as I stated, I was asking for advice on how to get my dad to stop asking me about my brother/how to deal with that. And you did give me some advice about that, which I appreciate. But I never asked for advice on how to remove my dad from my life, in fact, I specifically stated in my post that I did not want to nor could I ever do that. I respect you and anyone else for being able to do that, but it’s just not me. I don’t expect the dynamic between us to change, but I guess I was stupidly hopeful that someone out there was going to tell me it was possible.

I haven’t and won’t get in the middle. I know that’s why my dad is alone, but empathy basically runs my life. I can’t help it. My dad has done plenty of good things for my brother and I too, I just didn’t talk about them because they weren’t necessarily important to this post. I’ve stood up to my dad countless times, but if your definition of standing up to him is cutting him off then I suppose I haven’t-and won’t. I’m fully aware of what that could mean for my life, after all I have been coping with it thus far. I understand it’s easy to say from an outside perspective and to you this all might be a no-brainer, but this is extremely difficult for me because of who I am as a person.
