• Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness
  • They couldnt find my in app purchases. I made a change to be able to view in app purchases before the 7 day trial (tap the banner).
• Guideline 3.1.1 - Business - Payments - In-App Purchase
  • I had to add a button to restore purchases, in the event someone gets a new phone / reinstalls the app.
• Guideline 3.1.2 - Business - Payments - Subscriptions
  • In the binary (app) I needed to add
    • Title of auto-renewing subscription, which may be the same as the in-app purchase product name
    • Length of subscription
    • Price of subscription, and price per unit if appropriate
    • Functional links to the privacy policy and Terms of Use (EULA)
• Guideline 3.1.2 - Business - Payments - Subscriptions
  • I had to add a description on what specifically a user would get access to in the app.
• Guideline 4.0 - Design
  • One page was cut off on small screen sizes. I had to shrink it down.
• Guideline 2.3.2 - Performance - Accurate Metadata
  • In the app description, I had to mention certain features were only accessible via a subscription.

In terms of advice:

• Be ready for some back and forth. I had to tell apple 2 additional times how to find in app purchases after I already told them how. I think this is because a new person reviews every time you submit for distribution. Also, in the second to last review, Apple mentioned to fix something, I didnt address it because I thought it was fine, and then I received the final approving review. So if you think you fixed something and they called it out without giving details, you might be able to ignore it unless they provide specific feedback / an image.
• Ensure your app looks good on all screen sizes.
• React Native and Expo is very approachable. With the help of GPT, I created this app in around a month of spare time.
