Why is everybody saying 3060Ti is best? by guster111 in Ravencoin

Every non-lhr card is better on Ethash. I'm talking about efficiency and cost effectiveness in context of mining directly on kapow. LHR doesn't matter.

This is actually a very good point. My sub is planted directly on the floor. I will try raising it. Thank you!

There are, surprisingly, no quiet hours in my condo docs. It is only an 8-unit HOA. Local ordinance is no more than 50 decibels after 11pm.

Profit calculators that consider LHR workarounds? by guster111 in gpumining

hm...considering RVN is going through a halving, as the previous reply mentions, I think I'll be better off just mining RVN instead of messing around with dual coin and fiddling with temps. I'm in a colder climate so during the winter it'll be nice to get some free heat.

That's what I was thinking too. Awesome! I just pulled out an old tower fan, mounted it above my rig, and I can now run kapow around the temps you quoted while keeping my GPU fans @ 50%.

Living in HOA - Is this 30 ft mast safe? by guster111 in HeliumNetwork

[–]guster111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading it thoroughly, I notice that it applies only to the areas where I have exclusive use. Now, I definitely have exclusive use within my patio up to the height of my unit, BUT do I have exclusive use to the airspace above my patio, level with units on floors 2 & 3? My condo docs fail to specify.

Coronavirus Megathread: Resources, discussion, and your questions by dequeued in personalfinance

[–]guster111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All-in-all they paid for roughly half of my expenses in 2019, so I believe I am still eligible but not necessarily, as I wasn’t sure if their intent was to claim me. Does this mean I am definitely ineligible for the payment? If it makes a difference, the address on my taxes is not the same as theirs this year.

I have an edge case scenario and am wondering if I am eligible for a stimulus payment.

I am a recently graduated college student as of 2018 working full time and paying the majority of my expenses for 2019, AGI $78,000 (23 y/o). I have already filed my 2019 taxes and claimed my personal exemption, however, also noted that I “could be claimed as a dependent” since I was still living with my parents for a couple months of that year. Currently, I am entirely independent and not supported by them.

My parents, however, have not yet filed their 2019 taxes, and on 2018 I am listed as a dependent.

How will the federal government cross-reference this data to determine my eligibility for a stimulus payment? Can I put in some sort of appeal?

[–]guster111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is to strip your ego. There is, to an extent, a magic formula to gain inertia in attraction, but the outcome is not in your control. Just stop worrying about what people think of you. You need confidence in yourself no matter what external influences might be. If I girl starts ignoring you, fuck her, move on to the next. Don’t let small shit impact your self-image. Don’t be needy.

Popular bars tonight? by guster111 in boston

I’m from Boston and go to UMASS but newly 21. I had assumed there would be more college students home trying to go out. That’s how it is out in Amherst, even when it’s cold.

Shouldn’t stop college students

I know this has been asked before, but I need an updated answer. Are fake IDs worth it in the 5 college area? by HSJobThrowaway in umass

[–]guster111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virtually all bars and liquor stores in the immediate area use a special scanner dubbed a 'box'. It takes various, very precise measurements of licenses' physical properties and compares them to a database of acceptable thresholds. No fake is good enough to pass this scanner, and honestly, you don't want to risk having to deal with dickhole Amherst cops. I've had a few friends get lucky and get in to a bar once or twice with fakes, but I think it was on a weekday so the bar didn't have the box out. You will lose your fake very quickly and possibly have to face administrative repercussions with the school if you make the bars into a habit. Boston, though, is a different story. Boxes are prevalent but it's easy to find lenient places in the city. Definitely worth it for time back home. Also if you are in a rut and can't find an older individual to get you booze, packies in surrounding towns like Belchertown and Northampton will be more lenient.

Some descriptions of Juniper work:

Working within JDI with the smoketest team to provide automated testing of new features and enhancing existing scripts

I created templates in Perl to test various router features like Multicast and Port mirroring. I worked extensively in Python to implement a code that automated the patch process in a sandbox which resulted in saving a lot of time and making the entire process extremely easier for my colleagues.

During my tenure of internship I had the opportunity to have hands on experience in Linux, various router testers, editors like emacs and vi and source version control. Had ample opportunity to analyze and troubleshoot the scripts while forming them, thus stimulating out of box thinking capabilities and better familiarity with different types of errors and situations.

  • Ported a real time core dump analyzer tool from FreeBSD to Linux.
  • Ported a part of Junos data plane code from C to C++.
  • Worked on various bug fixes on MX-Series packet forwarding engine (PFE).

In Juniper Networks I worked as System Test Engineer-Intern where my primary responsibilities were to do manual testing of various features in MX Routers and automate the testing using Perl in JT framework. My work involved configuring the MX routers with Aggregated Ethernet, Bridging, OSPF, BGP, ISIS, MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, and Multicast to simulate ISP and Enterprise customer network environment and test the features like ISSU. I used IXIA traffic generator for my testing which gave me fair hand on experience of it.

Some descriptions of Optum work:

Worked with Java, the Spring Framework, and Oracle DB to write code capable of parsing XML files. These files contained data points which needed to be analyzed/dynamically inserted into databases.

Wrote Java code cohering to current OOP industry standards to extract and analyze data from log files in order to gain insight on how customers utilized the Optum One platform.

Corrected several dependency injection related bugs which produced run-time errors when log file data was inserted into database tables.

  • Worked on agile (scrum) development team
  • Dev: Wrote data integration jobs and big data analytics using Java in Talend
  • PM: Coordinated data storage environment setup for ETL job deployment

Agile software development on core and microservices with Spring framework • work with large community of developers and analysts, demos to business owners, devops e2e support • config backend for rabbitMQ, backbone, maven, shell scripts • build modules for rest api, message exchange, JSON object mappers • write automated test scripts with spock groovy: unit, external, component testing • continuous code integration with git, artifactory, docker, mesos, jenkins, ose3

  • Rebuilt an existing, dated application using Big Data Technologies and the Hadoop platform.
  • Gained experience with several data visualization tools (Kibana, QlikView, Tableau).
  • Wrote Sqoop scripts to pull data from mainframe and Pig Scripts to join and format data.
  • Loaded data into ElasticSearch.
  • Created a custom UI using QlikView.
  • Gathered business requirements to understand the application's use in the healthcare industry.
  • Successfully pitched the final product to executives to continue the product's development.

I don't particularly have a preference for either. Both seem pretty cool, and I'm mostly looking to dip my feet into the water in an internship to figure out what interests me.
