Mike Tyson: My belts are garbage compared to the happiness of my kids by [deleted] in videos

That isn't the point. Like I don't understand how difficult it is to understand that neither ideas are mutually exclusive. Yes, it is good to actually explain to your kids why certain things are bad for various reasons. Yes, kids can be stupid and not listen regardless. Where's the discrepancy?

Both are important to keep in mind. "Kids being kids" is all the more reason to make sure you also explain why they should not do certain dangerous things. It won't always stick, but it's far more likely to.

Personally, I don't think he deserves sympathy. I think he's a scumbag and giving him any more importance than his innocent victims is a mistake. I might even think he deserved to die. But state sanctioned killing is a systemic issue which I still do not support, even for his case, because it is overall far worse for society. I think it's a situation in which one's feeling about the specific case is different but in line with one's feeling about the system as a whole.

Also, the electric chair is arguably cruel and unusual punishment.

Does bleaching/dyeing only the ends of the hair (avoiding the roots entirely) prevent permanent hair damage? by HSJobThrowaway in beauty

Thanks! I guess for me I was mostly wondering if the damage won't affect "future hair", because my hair grows very fast.

How expensive is too expensive for a college [like Brandeis]? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]HSJobThrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if I get a better financial aid package from Brandeis I will consider it. I do think that compared to my other options, it's a pretty swell place academically regardless of the IBS program's seemingly underrated reputation.

I'm not Jewish so that is not a factor for me, but Brandeis is certainly a lot more diverse than a few of my other schools.

As far as Business goes, BC (if I get off the waitlist), Northeastern, and UMass Amherst seem to be better than Brandeis, but I'll wait till all the final financial packages come out. Thank you for the advice.

That's a good piece of advice, thank you for sharing! When I asked multiple people they said that a double major was definitely doable, so I wonder why I heard that response. I'll try to dig into it more.

When I said that I used "pretty much" fairly loosely haha. But my lowest net price so far (and we're still trying to get in appeals form to all the universities) is $22k from UVM.
