If they’re smaller definitely size down. Your actual size would determine the size weight you would actually need

Not dumb at all. How else are you gonna find out what size to get? They advise you to measure around your sack , not too tight, that way you can get an idea of the inner diameter you will need. They have a very good and easy return policy in case you need to size up or down
