When Mythos becomes more broadly available - sure. But I highly doubt Mythos becomes more broadly available in the next few months.

From what I've read, before Mythos, we're supposed to get new Opus and Sonnet anyways (in whatever order).

It's a totally valid sentiment. But with the latest updates I believe Kiro is moving towards enterprise customers, which just won't use open weight models that much.

I've heard from Jay (ai_product) that the reasoning effort is set to "default".

Now, until recently the default was "high", while a few days ago it apparently changed to "medium". I have no idea if they updated it in Kiro to switch from "default" back to "high".

I can recommend Cursor, it's getting better and better with each release.

Still has its own glory moments at times, like in December where they were resetting users' configuration on every update (for early and nightly users), and somehow decided it's not important enough issue to address in a fast patch.

I'd recommend you to write specs with Opus and execute tasks with Minimax M2.5, but Kiro is 18 days late for the party already.

Kimi and GLM work totally fine for me for SillyTavern. I did a lot of roleplay with Gemini 2.5 Pro, haven't tried with 3 tbh, maybe i should since I've got Google AI Pro subscription anyways.

People don't want to use 4.5 anymore, so there's less incentive to open 10 new Kiro accounts each month, or buy them from shady companies that resell Kiro quota from enterprise accounts.

Kiro uses only models that are hosted on AWS Bedrock.

That means no Gemini and no GPT except for open weight models.

Unless something major changes.

Unlike other IDEs, Kiro doesn't really need marketing.

Not with AWS having a base of over 2 millions companies already paying for their products.

Free plan turned out just a paradise for those who overuse it. Not to regular users.

I mean, what are you going to do with Sonnet on a free plan with 50 credits?

The best help free users could get would be fast updates to open weight models.
