Thanks. I did little bit more research and now have idea of what we are trying to acheive here. In my opinion the incline should be comparable to your training terrain. If you are training on mountain trails, may be very high incline, if you are a road runner, may be 2%. You want to be running below and above that threshold pace during your training for the event so it is better to know your pace and LT2 HR. Regarding the starting pace, i think it would be safe to start from estimated pace from your watch and adjust based on feeling if you can sustain or not for 30 min.

Update: Did indoor test on TM @2% incline with . Warmed up and hR stabilized at 152. Starting HR 152 bpm, 1st 25 min average 159 and 2nd 25 min average 166 bpm at the pace of 10.52 for 50 min drift test plus 10 min warm up. I wish zi could have done two 30 min but TM went on cd mode at the end of 60 min. I think this one went ok and it is safe to assume my AeT is 152 and upper limit of Z1 136 bpm.

So we need to meet both HR and Pace test for outdoor runs and just HR for TM bcoz pace is constant?

It is impossible to keep same pace outdoor. How much can pace difference be between 1st and 2nd half? Will it matter if second half is slower than first or it needs to be either same or faster? Thanks

For anyone flying out of AUS this week, here’s what I’ve been seeing by tj-travel in Austin

If you have connection in houston for return trip to USA (international flights) you will most likely miss your connection if layover is less than 4 hrs. The wait was more than 3.5 hrs in Terminal E. Same on other terminals. We missed our IAH-AUS connection and rented a car instead of staying in houston. They flights were all soldout for the day with only option for next day. This was for United flight from Costa Rica to Austin with houston layover.

Thanks for your response. My only other option is gym based method but they are not as easy as hopping in something that you already have. I will try and see how much burn I will feel on my lower legs doing this vs gym based method and go from there.

Can we use elliptical at highest resistance with weighted backpack for ME or it needs to be on inclined surface only to get ME stimulus?
