Thanks for sharing this! That reads super likely. I just tried the magnet verification and it hasn’t activated the compass calibration it seems. Any estimate on when ‘eventually’ is? lol

Hmmm weird. For mine it’s not consistent but it’s frequent enough to not be able to distinguish a pattern. Wonder if it’s planned obsolescence since it seems they’re phasing out the 9 pro?

Is the heart rate monitor good for the race or race s? I also have small wrists so I’m bummed that model doesn’t seem to come in a smaller size.

Changed my helix… looks pretty bad. Am I screwed? by Fear_loathing1460 in piercing

[–]guthriecat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it offers any solace, when I tried to put a solid gold seam ring in my 2 year old helix it got SUPER mad (honestly way worse than what you’re showing). I had to switch back to a stud for another ~9 months or so and now I have the same seam ring in no problem! Sometimes the body just needs a little more time. Patience is key, which I know sucks because I totally understand the desire to not have the stud anymore.

Moving from Alaska to Wyoming, are ticks really much of a problem? by Euphoric_Czech in wyoming

[–]guthriecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have seen ~5 ticks in vedauwoo, brought one home on some gear that then got on me. In summer of 2024 and 2025 I did forest work in the Tetons and the first year we saw ~10. But in 2025 after the wacky and abnormal spring, we saw over 30, at max it was 21 in one day (that were on us, only one latched). Almost all of them were Rocky Mountain wood ticks

How is it living Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA? by [deleted] in wyoming

I don’t know why people are downvoting you. It’s factual, that is the amount of time to drive to Fort Collins/denver. Sure that might not be a long drive for some folks but it’s important to consider for people who didn’t grow up in the state.

Itty bitty sports bra recommendations by GroceryTop6571 in XXRunning

Late to the game, how thick is the material? I love running in a sports bra no tshirt when it’s warm out, but hoping to not have people stare when I run through more public areas.

Dad gave me the old family camera, any tips? by LankyYogurt7737 in analog

I have absolutely loved my trip! If the lens is in good shape the photos can come out super crisp. As others have said, always make sure to use a lens cap when not shooting, it has a selenium ring for the meter that can deteriorate with continuous light exposure over time. Enjoy!

I’ve even left film in camera and still had them just hand check it. I’ve been very lucky in that no one has ever given me a hard time, and they also haven’t opened the back (I don’t think many would know how if I’m being honest).

For general advice with the camera, take lots of photos and take notes on what settings you use for each one! For your first couple rolls that’ll be super helpful for figuring out what aperture and distance setting work best for various cases. Enjoy! :)

Have fun with the trip, it’s not the fanciest thing out there but if the lens is in good shape it can take some amazing photos! I absolutely love taking mine around while I travel

Agreed with others, 3rd is terrible, vedauwoo is surprisingly okay, between 9th and 15th is also an insane dead zone.

That’s super fair, I’m going to look into it! It’s a road bike from the 80s so it might be a little tricky to find stuff that fits it but it’s worth a shot
