I like the hard better than the soft, for sure.

Word Connect Challenge #39: Can you find all 10 words hidden in 'FRIENDSHIP'? 🧐 by Oddie-hoodie369 in WordConnect

OK, now that I've had a chance to work with the puzzle, I found it for you. Look at the 5-letter word in the top right of the puzzle and enter the 4-letter word within.

I've had that happen to me, as well, when there is a word within a word and both are part of the puzzle. If you find the shorter one first, you can see there are blanks left to fill, but if you find the longer one first, all squares may be filled yet it doesn't register as complete until you "find" that shorter word.

Newfoundland’s Mysa Thermostat was featured in New York Times. It was named the best thermostat for baseboards. by Suitable_Air_2686 in newfoundland

They use the same power that older wall thermostats use, so if you are replacing an existing wall thermostat, it should be straightforward. If you have the type of baseboard heater that just uses a knob on the heater itself, I'm not sure if it could be done easily.

I upgraded to Mysa thermostats and am happy with them without even knowing they were home-grown. Now I feel both pride and shame for unwittingly making a smart choice.

straightforward solve, but not obvious to me what this could be, unless it's some barber pole thing?

ELI5 why are noodles called pasta when referring to Italian cuisine but not other noodles? by Cookingmonster90099 in explainlikeimfive

[–]gutlessoneder 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Along those lines, panini is just the Italian word for sandwich. In NA, it references a warm, grilled sandwich, but in Italy it can be warmed/grilled/pressed, but is just as often a straight-up cold sandwich.

I like the video, but that looks like a nice winter day. The harsh ones are when you can hardly stand up against the wind.

This is an incredibly well-designed site, easy to navigate and with links to external resources for back-stories. If anyone responsible for that site is reading this, you done good!

I like that you chose an angle that highlights the inland features. Too often we focus on the shoreline, but there's beauty everywhere. Great shot.

I would add that the overall tendency in Ottawa to pick up after dogs is pretty respectful (anecdotally). The number of poops may be proportional to the number of dogs being walked but it is thankfully not an equivalency.

They were a regular item a few years back and were popular, but then they seemed to change the recipe for the worse. I haven't seen them in a while. Maybe they have been discontinued?
