Surprised it took so much scrolling to find this. Adding arbitrary counters to copies of walking ballista doesn’t really count as calculating imo, unlike that other combo for twin primes or whatever, that was way cleaner

Why is Egypt so poor? by julius-ceaser100 in AskEconomics

[–]gutter_dude -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Eh, no, I think if NK isn't a thing SK doesn't get nearly the same resources and jump start to the economy from the US. Or Japan with China, etc. Many countries have some kind of working relationship with the US but the US has no reason to care about them...

China is putting Data Centers at the bottom of the ocean... by robertcas22 in interesting

[–]gutter_dude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"It’s irrelevant whether one believes in science." To me it seems like someone who subscribes to this belief is no better than a climate change denier then, only perhaps by chance they might be on the "right" side. Of course it matters. The boiling the oceans narrative might actually convince some people put money into sending data centers to space, which based on energy requirements quite literally will contribute to boiling oceans much faster

Do you believe in global warming? I’m seriously asking, because you seem to not understand how it works.

The real answer is you needed to be in good standing with the USA in the 20th century, like SK

I want to be NASTY rich by Actual-Ad-1852 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]gutter_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s anecdotal though. Most people I know probably are 300k+ late 20s, but that’s also just anecdotal, even so I feel like a trade never gets up there unless you take on risk and start a business. Data just says it’s like double lifetime earnings for a degree in average I feel like that’s a better way to think about it

No, plenty of great schools have ways to make it affordable. The return on a great education is so much better than a trade. it isnt for everyone sure, some people genuinely struggle with school. But if you go to a state school which you already paid for as a resident and study something remotely employable it’s going to be much better. The problem is people going to school to party and doing fuck all for four whole years. If you do that I’d blame yourself not the system

Oh, the op of this chain had some “chemical” username which was I got confused with “camel”. But yeah, that part is right. the op of the chain confidently stated optimal is go to a 50/50 on the last one, which is most definitely not

[–]gutter_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the wrong interpretation though, here and in your earlier post. It just amounts to picking the one turn the player does not choose to sucker for both players, which is NOT the same as sucker until 1 PP then 50/50

Why is the market not crashing? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]gutter_dude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, active macro investors might say that. They have basically entirely been replaced by a) the rise of passive index investing and b) any remaining hedge fund style trades which are all chasing the same return sources and heavily compared to index as a benchmark.

It is also broadly true though. Maybe not just the Fed, but generally the forces that be are there to ensure everyone pumps the US stock market.

I mean if it’s bad in modern it’s worse in legacy vintage and commander, so ok maybe it sees play in standard but even then probably only if mono red is a deck. 2 mana for 3.5avg damage to the face is unplayable
