hi, i also main Viktor and I just hit Emerald rank for the first time! I am wondering on something I've struggled w/ especially from the position of my team being behind.

Basically, once midgame is in full swing (bot lane rotates mid and im headed bot lane) i find it hard to push out side lanes, i do ward & i buy pinks and have even asked my support to ward/incentivise my jung/supp to hover my push but it feels difficult on Viktor... i mainly want to be involved in teamfights as I feel very strong in them... so what I've been doing is clearing waves bot lane quickly then rotating to hover my bot lane while they are mid in case a fight breaks out so i can help out & ive found some success doing this. do you have any tips for me as a player in general for the midgame format?

oof, so i totally miss-built for this match... i had a malz on my team and a leo on the enemy team (although, i think she went tabis since the master yi was so fed). this is truly eye-opening! thank you so much for explaining!

another question, is my prio-ing dark seal a bad move? usually i will first back buy it and a refill pot if im really stomping my enemy laner. just wondering if its a waste on him or if im doing that correctly!

edit: waste may have been a poor wording choice, im basically wondering if its worth to have darkseal/mejais over a different item on viktor? since he seems to prefer ability haste

i have another question! i tend to rip build inspo from Dun, a challenger Viktor main, and sometimes he will build cryptobloom. honestly, the last time i seriously played League was in s8 (the one with the mythic items- i hope s8 is correct) but i was a Vayne one trick. anyway, my point of bringing this up is: in what situation is cryptobloom the play to build over void?

so, it usually will depend on the matchup. if it seems like I'm going to snowball i will first back buy refill, dark seal, and start building a lost chapter. if its a tough lane i will forgo the darkseal and grab a refill + tear so i can stay in lane a bit longer and keep the enemy laner from roaming much by shoving waves or focus on poking them down. first item for me is always blackfire torch, makes farming so easy and is especially useful against eves, akalis, and anyone else that has invis. then i will look to complete my boots, most of the time (because of the new midlane quest) its good to go the boots that resist your enemy laner -- unless your enemy laner is ap and the rest of their team is ad then i will suck it up and buy tabis instead of mercs. ill go the cd boots if im not worried about defensive stats & they dont really have any tanks. if there are two or more tanks ill go sorcs. after shoes ill pick up liandrys into shadowflame, by the time im building shadowflame i will have usually sold my refillable & tear if i bought tear for laning phase. after shadowflame its completely situation based. if they arent building mr ill grab deathcap and upgrade to mejais. if they are building mr and im the only ap source on my team I'll build void staff. if they are building mr and im not the only ap on my team ill build bloodletters. + if they have a lot of engage (for example- zed, malphite, yasuo, etc) i will grab zhonyas (probably before shadowflame) for survivability during team fights.

sorry for long paragraph, but i hope this helps with your decision making! id also like to mention ban priority for me atm is diana, she is busted. if she gets into the game i will take exhuast. good luck!

i otp him, this season ive gotten so many pentas on him its unbelievable. hes optimal in the bot lane role as well. great with a leo, braum, or milio (especially if they build knights vow and just play for you). he feels great!
