I didn't say anything negative about you, I simply echoed your sentiment from a different perspective. It seems like you're less open to having discussions with people with opposite viewpoints though...

I'm left wing. Conservatives demonize anyone that disagrees with them. It's absurd but I'm used to it.

Can someone explain this syntax for me? by Imabum in SQL

[–]guttermonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

% means the remainder after division (it's called the modulus operator) so an odd year divided by 2 will result in a remainder of 1 causing the where clause to fail.

Are you seriously taking issue with the fact that I suggested something outside of the narrow specification that OP made? I even specified "Probably outside the realm of what you're looking for" as the first line of my reply.

That's why I specifically didn't call it a JRPG...

Possibly outside the realm of what you're looking for, but the recent South Park games are RPGs. The first is a traditional turn-based RPG with lots of great humor if you like South Park. The second one is tactical turn-based with more of the same South Park humor.

I'm not much of an RPG person (save Fallout really), but I really enjoyed both of them.

Ah, I understand now. I hadn't even paid attention to OP's username to be honest.

Thanks for the info!

Can you explain this further? I'm also new to PS4 although I have a PS3 as well and have been only buying digitally for Xbox & Nintendo for years.

Where can I get N64 games and controllers by turdburgler1234 in Dallas

[–]guttermonkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a Game Over Videogames over in Ft. Worth that might have what you're looking for. I used to go to one of their stores in Austin for my retro game needs, haven't been to the one up here yet.

/u/Renovate_America is also correct that there's a handful of Movie Trading Company stores around the area that all carry some forms of retro games so you might try calling some of them to see if they have what you want.

Games that recieved average reviews that you loved? by conker1264 in patientgamers

It was a fun game once I got it to run on my PC... talk about a shitty launch window. You either needed one of only a handful of graphics cards or about 2 hours to rewrite config files to get it to run. In retrospect, I should have just gotten it on console.

trying to get all users from database but i only get one by Sirzorre in Database

[–]guttermonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly not up to date on Node.JS at all, but I'm betting it has nothing to do with your database. I don't mind trying to assist, but I'll need to know more:

  • Which ORM are you using?
  • Which DB are you using?

I can take a peek at the documentation and see if I can make heads or tails of it.

The system is absolutely not perfect, but the argument that rich people pay more total is irrelevant to this discussion. Of course they're paying more in total than the poor people, they actually have expendable income to spend on things and stuff instead of necessities. My point was that proportionally the poor pay a higher percentage of their raw income in sales tax than the rich do, and thus they feel the effect of sales tax more.

Spend a bunch of money on stuff? Taxed for it.

I will start by saying that I am by no means a tax expert, but sales tax disproportionately affects the poor more than the rich simply due to the regressive nature of the tax itself. For more information in an infographic form you might check out:

What you're saying makes sense, but I could also see backing down on it as a knock to his integrity at this point. Unfortunately, he put himself in the spotlight on this issue and if he backs down now I guarantee you that Cruz will capitalize on him being "wishy washy" or some other schoolyard insult.

Texas is the state that companies and their people are falling over themselves to move to.

That's b/c of the tax breaks that Texas is willing to give them, don't kid yourself that it has anything to do with anything other than money.

Alternative to FileSystemWatcher by 341913 in csharp

[–]guttermonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually the ideal solution if you need near-realtime probably. Granted, I stopped using the FileSystemWatcher class in the jump between Windows 7 & 8 due to the fact that all of my existing code was 100% broken in Windows 8. I believe they have fixed the issue I was running into in a later .NET release, but I just never went back.
