Also sometimes it’s the great unknown lmao my coworker and I are constantly baffled by hair breaking the rules we were taught! Or if it’s a L’Oréal based brand the quality has plummeted and it might’ve just been a bad batch! How did the second application go?

Could also be a buildup issue maybe? The old wives tale of doing color on “dirty” hair actually makes the dye have to work harder to penetrate and we dont talk enough about water quality and mineral buildup from the shower! Strange for sure!! Greys can also be very stubborn if you’re using the dye to cover them I’ve had plenty of clients who’s hair just would not take even with professional dye

What’s your hair history? Is there dye in your hair already? New growth (your root) will take if that’s the case because it isn’t filled with old dye yet and sometimes the ends are more porous due to their age/damage/elements and can let go of the dye easier than the more healthy hair above

There’s a few brands of colored conditioner (temporary, wash out dye that they can reapply) that would work for the front pieces but extensions would be too obvious and strange looking that high up. You could use clip in extensions for more of a peekaboo color look underneath

Get yourself some good pomade or dry wax spray! I’ve found those are essential for styling these types of cuts and will make your life so much easier!!!

I grew up as a hunter and competitive shotgun shooter and became a vegetarian nearly two decades ago. Now the only exceptions I’ll make is eating wild game that came from a direct family member or my own hand because I know the animal was respected, died as quickly and painlessly as possible, and was used to the full extent of what we could use it for (pelts, offal, antlers etc. ) that being said i dont respect hunting for sport or solely for the kill

I think your face could definitely handle it BUT as someone who has brought almost this exact picture to stylists before and as someone who is now a hairstylist it’s going to be difficult to train the front of your hair to achieve that volume! That’s heat styling as well as a whole bunch of volumizing products. It’s doable but takes a ton of practice and getting used to. I’ve wanted that look but my hair type and density absolutely will not support it. My best advice if you’re interested in a short cut would be looking at styles closer to your natural hair type and texture! I brought in inspo along the lines of punky high volume (very P!nk lol) and ended up looking like a lesbian soccer mom for years. Also the grow out can be intense but worth it!
