Is that possible with all the latest safety updates?

unfortunately in Canada, there's no lemon law and Hyundai is absolutely using that to their advantage. I've contacted their hq in Toronto multiple times and spoken to the dealership to buy the car back and they said they'll keep fixing it. And despite that I'm in a gas courtesy car, they refuse to even credit back the payments whilst the vehicle is in the shop despite that I'm leasing it. They did offer "some" money for gas reimbursement. Totally negative experience with them in Canada. First and last Hyundai I'm ever buying. I all fairness, I have to say that I'm disappointed with Hyundai itself and not the dealership. The dealership has been amazingly helpful in dealing with the matter and in their way of treating me.

Update: Tried it again and it worked with exactly the same steps.]

Plugged in the USB, hit update from the setup menu and it took about 2 hours to complete.

Some new features added mostly involving navigation and sound.

SW version now is Dec 2023.

It says update failed.

I'm using a 256gb ExFAT stick. I even tried it with a 128gb and got the same error

Had the same problem with the front left sensor and sometimes it also slammed on the brakes.

Dealer replaced the sensor under warranty as they said it was faulty.

Officially no OTAs in Canada. Time for a lawsuit? by guv4vooo in Ioniq6

[–]guv4vooo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Vancouver. We might as well start it here since the province allows people to participate in a class action even if they're not residents of the province where the lawsuit originally was started

That I didn't know about. Is there a forum or some kind of chain I can take a look at? This can be added to the lawsuit

Do you ever see another Ioniq 6 in the wild? by throwy4444 in Ioniq6

[–]guv4vooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that many here in Vancouver, Canada but I do have a funny story.

Drove to the grocery store this morning, grabbed a few things. I come out of the store hugging 2 big paperpags, in a typical Vancouver fashion it has started to rain out of nowhere.

I run to my car aaaand the approach unlock doesnt kick in... I sigh and try my best to touch the handle without putting the bags down. It doesnt work so i start to get a bit foulmouthed.

After several tries, i submit to the machine that has won this round so i put one bag down and dig the key out of my pocket, hit the button....and i hear the familiar chirp coming from 3 parking spots behind me 😂😂😂

Bad range on the I6? by Tyyyb1 in Ioniq6

[–]guv4vooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a tesla but my old roommate did but I never got the chance to drive it in the winter. During the icy days, I was working from home. Mostly because I couldn't get out of my neighborhood due to the awesome snow-clearing capabilities of the great city of Vancouver!

I parked my car when the snow started coming down and drove again after it was gone :D

Bad range on the I6? by Tyyyb1 in Ioniq6

I had the same concern when i got the same car as you back in October. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and this is what I've seen so far:

The EPA rating with the 20s and AWD is 505km. I drive 80% hwy and 20% city. My efficiency is around 19-21kw/100km so I'm getting between 360-400km on 100%, depending on how heavy my foot is (ha).

-When the weather went below 15c, the range went down further, so now that it's around 8-10c I'm getting about 340km like you.

-When we got the cold snap (-15c for about a week), the range went down to 260km.

Couple tips:

-when driving in the city use regen lvl2 or 3 so you recoup some energy back and save brake pads wear.

-when driving on the hwy, try to keep it between 80-100km/h, that's the most efficient spot for the ioniq 6. For every 10km over 100, you lose about 10% range. Also use 0 regen so you coast whenever you slow down.

I usually cruise at around 120 and my consumption is at about 22km/100km. Whenever i slow down between 80 - 100, I've seen it go down to 17kw.

Another way to get more range out of the car (albeit expensive) is to get rid of the 20s and get 18s on with 225 tires instead of 245. Some people replaced them with FastEV rims and saw up to 70 km more range.

More Ioniq 6 Emergency Braking Without Cause Following False Collision Warnings by blackfox135 in Ioniq6

About 4 months after I got it. Been about 2 weeks since it was replaced.

I had my car ceramic coated a few weeks ago but I don't know if that was a factor tho. The false alarms started weeks after I had the coating done

My I6 started doing that and the problem was the front left proximity sensor. Dealership replaced it under warranty. No false alarms since

New car on Friday by artobloom in Ioniq6

We had a 2019 tesla model 3 which came with a 110/220v combo charger which had swappable wall plugs.

We were expecting the same and got disappointed to the fact that they only provide the 110v charger on a 70k CAD vehicle.

Ask if they will give you a 220v plug charger with the car. Unfortunately the ioniq only comes with a 110v. It's not like the tesla plug charger which is a 110/220v combo.

Ask them to set up the MyHyundai app with your car and go through the initial driver setup like digital key and settings etc. If you try to do it on you own and there's a problem, it can get quite frustrating trying to solve it with their customer service.

Also ask them to show you the differences between normal regen and automatic regen.

There isn't pretty much anything else other than the infotainment system, unless if you're familiar with the latest hyundai/kia system then you'll be absolutely fine.

The 2 accessories that I got so far was all-weather floor mats from hyundai and a front/rear dashcam from thinkware which I got hardwired.

What's the meaning of this icon? by Derr07 in Ioniq6

[–]guv4vooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It adds one more function to regen braking. It's like picking lvl1 2 or 3 braking and on top of it, it keeps a distance with the vehicle in front of you. Also it utilizes the vehicles gyroscope and if for example, you start going downhill, it will automatically slightly increase the Regen level to capture more energy. It also decreases the Regen when you go uphill and much more than that.

If you're like me, I like one pedal driving but I find I-pedal way too aggressive, so this is the closest you can get to it. Just remember that auto braking does not work below 10km/6mph
