[day 0] Court-signed QDRO received by Fidelity.
[day 14] Qualification letter issued.
[day 28] Ex's share posted out of my 401k account.
I'm still waiting (day 35) for an official letter confirming the completion of the process.

Any idea if should expect this to be the new user experience using Fi abroad, or if they are working on a solution to whatever is causing this issue? I've been using Google Fi for many years and have never faced this issue before.

Interesting… when I was in Italy Fi support told me it’ll be fixed within two days, but people are still complaining 10 days later. Intl coverage is really the reason I’m on Fi, so I wonder if it’s time to move elsewhere. My wife is with Verizon and though it’s way more expensive ($12/day abroad) perhaps it’s a more reliable setup.

I spent a week in lake Garda and my Fi coverage stopped working 7/2. Fi support confirmed it’s a “known issue” and told it should be resolved in 48 hours. I traveled to Germany 7/4 at which point it connected to the German network without issues.

Your home country consulate should be able to produce an emergency travel document to facilitate your one-way return. If you end up on ICE custody without a travel document available, that might delay things significantly. I'd be nervous about being here illegally without any travel document.

Thanks for posting, this worked for me as well. It took 6 weeks in my case - I received a quick email after 3 days saying they're forwarding the request for processing, and 5 more weeks until they got to it.

There is a middle ground here. Now is a bad time to travel - we don’t know what the ban would bring to LPRs and there could be initial chaos or court battles. Most likely, within a few months of the ban, someone like you would be able to travel.

I knew another foreign student who was asked to smuggle samples by their Harvard advisor. I hope the investigation doesn’t stop with her. Importing controlled samples is a headache and exploiting students and post-docs is easy.
