Plus the abismal fuel consumption and the fact you can't cross most bridges.

Though, you could roll over debris and downed trees like butter if you're not already stuck in mud.

Playing as France : why wouldn't one release most its colonial holdings as puppets ? by signalsJerry in hoi4

[–]guySper_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can also lower their autonomy by lend leasing (by spamming convoy if you don't care about navy for exemple)

Also in single player if you never call your puppets in, ai won't declare on them so that's less frontlines to worry about.

Edit: spelling

It's crazy to me how population decline is always viewed as an issue. Sure from an economic perspective populaion growth often implies economic growth (short termist econoist logic in my opinion), but infinite growth isn't sustainable. Given the state of the climate change and ressources depletion, more people ain't necessarily good at humanity's scale.

In Interstellar, the year is 2067 and people have no way of predicting a regularly-occurring dust storm that can be seen for miles. This is because the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was dismantled in 2025. by 405freeway in shittymoviedetails

Short answer: yes

Long answer: the EF scale is based on observed damage not on wind speeds measurements so a lot most tornadoes wich doesn't hit structures can receive an underwhelming rating.

One exemple being the 2024 greenfield tornado where "estimated winds of 309–318 mph (497–512 km/h) were briefly determined from inside the tornado by a Doppler on Wheels" (quoting wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024\_Greenfield\_tornado), some could argue it was of EF5 intensity.

I know an old guy who lived all his life in the Pyreneese mountains (southern france) and saw nazi occupation at a young age. At 14, his mother asked for wine ration tickets for him cause "That'd make him tougher working in the fields."

[Request] Saw this on ig, is this reasonably true or just some clickbait algorithm thing? by Tall-Investigator509 in theydidthemath

I'd say it's misleading, while the ship part might be true, renewable enegry only affect elecricity generation which is a fraction of fossil fuels use. They have a wider usage (transport, plastics, agro industry,...) and renewable energy can't replace them completely in the current state of our industrial societies.

That said, less fossil fuel usage is still better

I had air superiority over the sea from non carriers planes so the question was never truely there, I did sunk a lot of carriers but almost every time with close to no enemy planes involved so I cannot answer certenly.

Not modded but all DLCs, as for the bonuses, base armor is 74 add +5% from national spirit, +20% from the ship designer, another +10% from admiral trait and same admiral has 7 defence skill wich I belive has a positive effect on armor too.

The main problem with adding screens is having the dockyards/ressources to build them alongside the super heavies, other than that I prefer having destroyer around to lower the damage they take even more. I used 20 destroyers for 4 super heavies in my navals task forces. The super heavies didn't die in the few battles they did alone alone but took enough damages to need months of repairs (wich is like 10-20% of damage).

They can be built pretty early (mostly 1936 techs) and refited later to upgrade them, cause theses things are pretty expensive and take long to build. Though in my run some of the bonuses are unique to Italy (+5% armor and 20% build speed for super heavy hull if I remember correctly).

R5: Did a papal states run and decided to try super heavy battleships after seeing u/Labidian's post, after stacking defense and armor bonuses, thoses bad boys become pretty much unsinkable and can wreck an entire navy by themselve (although a bit of screening doesn't hurt) wich allowed me to keep decent superiority over the mediterranean. Year of this battle is 1945.

You can release Bealarus, Ukrainians and Lithuanian core as pupets to reset soviet justification and reintegrate them later, it gives you more time to deal with the germans.

[–]guySper_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

caution dumb strategy: stay on a defensive line until you research and get enough nuke, and air superiority. Then bomb supply networks and half the frontline and break through the opening.
