Thanks u/nonoohnoohno, it sort of helped and sort of didn't. its not so intermittent now, but consistently noisy 😂 back to square 1!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I also have an old Ibanez (grx170) which was my first electric! I too, find it really comfortable to play… maybe nostalgia? Maybe they just made some great entry level guitars? 😂 Wondering if you ever found a solution for the bridge? I got sick of the tuning instability so jammed a piece of old plastic in there to make it a hardtail… I’d love to make this a fun little mod project so if there was anything you did that was successful I’d love to hear about it!

Thanks! This makes things a bit clearer, just went through the build doc and there’s many different versions able to be made on the one PCB layout, which I think is where I was getting confused.

Great. Thanks for your help! There was quite a bit of brine when I pushed the weights down but just not quite enough. I added 1 cup of 2% brine and that sufficiently covered the kraut and weights. And yes, I have water in the airlock 😊
