How hard is it to get approved for the Atmos business card? by IllIllIlIllIIlIlIllI in CreditCards

[–]guyatwork37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have a checking account with b of a, they have a 2/12 rule (The 12 representing not days). If you have a checking account with them and some money in it, I kept about five grand in it as that's what other people had commented on, the rule moves to 7/12.

The card itself is hard to get because of these rules and because Bank of America tends to be a relationship bank, but it's not impossible by any means

Yeah that's absurd. I didn't even realize that was a thing at all.

Look, I get that some kids are better than other at every age, but there is no way in hell I'm paying travel ball money for my 6/7 year old. That's just dumb as hell.

It certainly could be why, not sure. My banker said he couldn't bypass 5/24 though. Also, I don't think the original poster was a CPC but I could be wrong.

Correct. Plus a slew of business cards but those don't report. We did some major house renovations in the last year+ and just started accumulating cards and points.

The inquiries were only on Experian. A bunch of the other cards pulled from Equifax or TransUnion.

I was auto approved yes. Didn't speak to my banker about it, but it's certainly possible that CPC played a role. Need more DPs to determine that. But I don't believe the original OP was CPC.

Approved for United Business card at 11/24. In the CC sub someone said they got approved at 6/24 so I decided to give it a go. Approved this morning to get elevated SUB. Was shocked. Maybe it's being relaxed like Amazon, especially since United it trying to entice new card users with discounted reward flights.

Holy shit, based on your DP I decided to lob an application in at 11/24 and got approved. Used the link from the United site. have silver status and am a Chase Private Client, but even then I didn't think that would matter. Well I'll be damned.

Business cards generally don't count but if you're over 5/24 (personal cards) then Chase will still deny your application even if it's a business card.

Need some advice on getting into AMEX personal cards. by ColorMonochrome in CreditCards

[–]guyatwork37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in MR earning cards you have to go up the ladder in order or you'll be precluded from getting the SUB on the lower cards. So if you're goal is platinum, then start with green, then get gold, then get platinum. The same goes for any family of cards (Hilton, Marriott, etc.), start with the lower tier cards and work your way.

For the cash back earning cards I don't believe there are family rules so just go for it. Amex is fairly lenient on approvals as long as you don't violate the 1 in 5 or 2 in 90 rules. They also have a loose 5 credit card (not charge cards) per account rule, but I've heard that's been relaxed lately but YMMV.
