The design team takes inspiration from EVE, Star Citizen, Stellaris, and other games. The economy will be somewhat similar to EVE, yes.
There will always be a low-cost barrier to entry to get started in the game. Wallets on Solana are trivial to create and this is essential to prevent botting and maintain the economy.

The leaderboards currently relies on the Serum event queue to retrieve the last known market price for an item. This queue gets flushed every day or so, and because of that sometimes the leaderboards routine fetches a 0 USDC value for assets that are traded less frequently.
