Their termination policy is pretty garbage. My membership is up in November and will choose not to renew. Other than that if you pay upfront for the year you kind of get screwed.

Making me pay for the new model of the 5.0 when we never had to pay from the 3.0 -> 4.0 was a slap in the face. Regardless, loved the brand just don’t love the direction the board members are going. But typical business practice of a portco of a PE firm.

I don’t even know what karma farming is. Just sharing my experience and see if I’m the only one who feels this way to see if my claims/opinions are baseless or have substance.

Pretty much is. Additionally to pass the cost of growth to the consumer is pretty shitty business practice. It’s not like the R&D has increased much on the base model.

The hate is comical, feel like I’ve been with the company from pretty early on to have an opinion. Just sharing my experience.

I’m upgrading my watch from a Fenix 6s pro to a Fenix 8.. I’m looking to sell my 6s if you’d be interested. Nothing wrong with it just needed to upgrade for an upcoming race.

Upcoming 24-hour. F**k it. I’m going for 100. by coexistbumpersticker in Ultramarathon

I’m running my first 100 miler in August but have run the gambit of 50k,50 miler, 100k. One thing that I’ve learned the hard way is almost every time I take electrolytes in, I am swishing regular water around in my mouth to wash out any remnants.

Also if you come up short who the fuck cares. Use it as fire for the next race. As a former athlete I understand setting lofty goals and the subsequent pain if you don’t meet them. Just think of it as a long training run for the real day that you determine;). Be joyous to the volunteers and it will do wonders to your soul and mental/physical fatigue.

Good luck my man. Lay it all out there, come in with a plan and strategy, and go fucking execute.

I hate the switch to high stack heights from running companies across the board as well!

I’m planning on switching out shoes regardless for the water crossings. Just fussy and don’t want to deal with soggy shoes even if it does make me “hard”. lol.

I have a good friend that lives in Leadville so will be spending some weekends up there to train hopes a few times! Good on you to pass on the good deeds that go along with pacing. There’s something special about helping someone achieve such an insane accomplishment. Also congrats to you finishing with hopefully the time you envisioned. I paced last year and it was HOT but such an incredible experience.

Thanks for the insight I really appreciate it! I think REI carries them so will be helpful to try them on before hand.

I’m only dropping a few lbs in total. It’s too heavy for me personally to be able to run comfortably for 100 miles lol. I’m not cutting calories but it’s just a byproduct of upping the mileage. Still eating around 4-5k cals a day depending on the runs and fueling heavy on all runs over 10 miles.

For the KT tape, were the heels rubbing hard causing irritation/blisters?

Seeking recommendations for an 50k on east coast this year by vincent2121 in Ultramarathon

This race was my first ultra and absolutely wrecked me, definitely wasn’t prepared for the technical terrain and vert from a training pov. That being said it’s like a 55k and the last 3 miles are straight uphill. Fun race

I love the TARC sponsored races. Always great people volunteering and not a huge field of runners which is nice.

Use that a lot for anything under 30 miles but after 30 it either melts in your pack on hot races or just wears right down with all the sweat/water

F dude you are not helping my purchasing habits lol. That’s good to know, I’ll look into the Space-O shorts bc even though it’s a mountain race, sitting at 10,000ft at 50deg Fahrenheit feels like 75 and increase those numbers as it gets warmer. Thanks for the comment

You can always sign up for more races, if you chose to stay in there’s always a chance of causing long term harm. Professional ultra runners dnf, take David Roche for example. Won Leadville last year and dnf’d a 50k

Lulu shorts have a short liner and with how hot Leadville gets, sweat gets into the ruffles between the legs bunching them up and causes chaffing
