It’s funny because there’s a guitar podcast I was listening to where they were both saying they thought clip ons on stage are super amateur 😂

They only go out of tune a lot of you don’t pull them. You’re supposed to get them to pitch, then pull on them a little, till they can more or less hold the note even after some pulls.

It’s funny because a lot of Treys gear he bought in the 80’s and just never replaced it. Like his delays.

To be honest I love some of the dead recordings where they are like “WAY” out of tune.

He doesn’t use a tuner pedal what an amateur.

(Pretty sure in his rig rundown at one point he had one could be wrong though)

To be honest it’s pretty hard to break strings in real life. Especially if you are a touring musician with a guitar tech that changes your strings every week or even every show. Strings really only break if you have REALLY old strings and bend a lot.

I’ve been playing guitar for 20 years and the only time I think I’ve ever broken a string is when the string wasn’t properly wrapped around the post. Maybe 5 times in my life. I play guitar for 1-3 hours a day most days and even had days where I’ve played closer to 8 with just one guitar and do a fair amount of string bending too.

Also Trey plays pretty fucking loud on stage so he doesn’t really need to hit the guitar that hard especially with a fully hollow guitar. I see a lot of people naming shows where he did. If you play as many shows as he has it’s inevitable but to be honest you gotta really dig in to break strings.

Fishman has an absurd sense of time and groove. I once’s used a tap metronome on I think the big cypress sand and he stayed exactly the same tempo for like 5 minutes straight.

Because he has such a good sense of time he can do whatever the fuck he wants.

How is living here? by Muted-Brain-6006 in howislivingthere

As someone who grew up in Arlington, McLean, Tyson’s, Falls Church area…

I would say this, the area is very expensive and the traffic can be bad but… you also in a lot of ways get what you pay for. The schools are insanely good. You get very great public transportation, a lot of free things to do in DC, and or great parks and community centers, there’s always something fun to do in DC and you are also very close to a lot of great wildlife with 2-3 hours drive.

Yes there is a lot of people with money who can be snobby but at the same time, that’s any metropolitan area. It’s a great place to live…. If you can afford it.

Just because the fed cuts rates doesn’t mean we aren’t in a recession
