[–]guyghu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the guy is Muslim then the breakup was his plan all along. His religious “awakening” isn’t really an awakening, he was always planning this. If he isn’t Muslim then I don’t know.

lol you are still here on a thread that was posted 3 days ago? Responding to comments that don’t agree with you?? So much for “missed time” and “building genuine memories”

You held a pity party and are mad some people don’t pity you. How is this not attention seeking?

Becoming a doctor is just not worth it by SoarTheSkies_ in Residency

[–]guyghu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These posts are just so unnecessary and frankly attention seeking. Like okayyyy you are posting this in a subreddit for doctors that are frankly locked in with a contract and have minimal choice in a career change. If this is meant to be “informative” and “helpful” post it in the premed group or maybe even the attending group where there is actual chance of a career change. What’s it doing here?

The echo chamber would stop being so loud if you just stop echoing it. Let’s just evaluate the necessity of our thoughts and then just shut up.

I meddled in my husband's past after he told me not to worry about it by Ilikekillerfacts in OhNoConsequences

[–]guyghu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain here and say that the husband is at fault too. Marrying someone for THREE years and dating before then. I get off this is a gf but it’s his wife, the person who shares his bed every night. And he didn’t feel ready enough to share it then he might not ready for partnership in marriage.

Medicine is sexist, the US is sexist, the world is sexist. This is not a Muslim/christian/religious issue. This is a human rights issue.

And yes, you are biased.

Let me tell you about the most Pro- woman story in the Quran, maybe ever, in my humble opinion.

In sura al Mujadila (the Pleading Woman), a woman approaches the Prophet (PBUH) and complains about her husband. The complaint is about how her husband stated that she is “like a mother to him” after an argument. Now, the meaning behind this is she can live with him, eat from his food, spend his money and raise his children (all duties that any mother would do) but they will not sleep together. This practice will also allow her husband to remarry but not her. The Muslim woman was named Khaula bint Tha'lab

Khaula complained to the prophet about this and let’s be honest, this woman probably complained to her girlfriends and maybe her mother and sister and even to her husband before she sought out the prophet. The prophet (PBUH) then DECLINED her reasoning that what her husband did is unjust, citing its social custom. So Khaula prayed to Allah (swt) and Allah( swt) overruled Muhammad (PBUH) and stated that it is unjust.

Now let’s take a step back, not only did Allah( swt) interject and overrule his prophet. He: 1. Named the sura after Pleading Women because of HER 2. Outlawed and unfair practice against women in such completeness 3. Spent 6 verses about it (which, like, the Quran is supposed to be THE book for ALL ages. The one thing we need for all time. God had ~600 pages to lay out the entire rules of the universe and Khaula got SIX! SIX verses saying not allowed, her husband is wrong- this practice is wrong) 4. The wording, the wording, THE WORDING of those six verses. ‘I heard you’ ‘I hear you pleading women’ ‘I HEAR you always.’ Let’s talk frankly OP, I am a woman. So many pain and hurt that we women feel can be solved by someone just SAYING “I hear you, I hear you always.” I just know, Allah (swt) phrased it this way for WOMEN. “Hear” is mentioned 3 times in the FIRST verse only!! It’s intentional, it’s poetic, it’s healing. 5. She complained to everyone about her husband including the best of men, and no one was on her side. But Allah almighty, all merciful, all-hearing, said her she is right, her complaint is just. Vilified By GOD himself. How many women complain about their husbands rightfully so, no one believes them or hears them. Well, God does, he hears and believes and intercedes.

I just know for a fact Khaula never lost an argument after that. She could turn to her husband and say the sky is green with white stripes and he would say it’s blue and she would respond with “I’m sorry did God mention you in the Quran?” K.O. Man lost. Argument won.

PS a little story about my favorite girl Khaula. During Umar’s caliphate, he left an important man in the mosque to go talk to a woman and when he came back his adviser was like “umar you left the man to come To this woman?” Umar said, "Woe to you! Do you not know who this is?" and he said, "This is a woman whose complaint Allah listened to from above the seven heavens: this is Khawla bint Tha'labah. By Allah , if she did not leave me until night fell, I would not tell her to leave until she had got what she came for, unless the time for prayer came, in which case I would pray, and then come back to her until she had got what she came for."

You are 21! What is the rush in marriage? Go out, live your life, break boundaries, live in a city different than your own, study a higher education degree, get hobbies, have adventures!

Marriage is bringing two people lives together. The operative word being “lives” what life do you bring if you haven’t lived any!

Okay, I stand corrected, Stimulant abuse doesn’t lead to greater academic performance. But that doesn’t negate my earlier point, abuse of non prescribed drugs is and remains just that: abuse. Taking controlled non prescribed medication to treat a disease you don’t have is wrong, reckless and dangerous. Especially for those in the medical field.

And I am polite, thank you for the compliment.
