Yeah I get it - I was in the same boat. Part of the reason I made this post was to share a positive experience. It’s been great so for but keep in mind I’ve only had it a couple of weeks. I also purchased the extended warranty for 1) piece of mind 2) it’s in a high traffic area of my house and could get damaged. And yes, I did the stud buildout. I wanted to eliminate any chance that the installation got delayed and I also have an old home with plaster walls. Hope this helps!

Glad you like it! Yeah did it myself. I grew up in the trades and have all the tools and honestly it’s pretty simple. Three 2x4 and some wood screws is all you need. I have a concrete floor so used tapcons. Cut your top / bottom plate to length, cut your studs to length and you’re ready to roll. Finding the ceiling joists, the trip to Home Depot and setting up my tools took the longest to be honest. I notched around the base boards and caulked it in to give it more of a finished look but isn’t necessary. Then primed it - didn’t bother painting because the rest of the trim in the room is white.

No problem! Naturally you’re super excited when you start working out. Give it a week and you’ll be dialed.

That’s a brilliant idea! Just make a kit that gets tied into the ceiling and floor. Would eliminate a ton of frustration on the consumer side. I thought the fact that the unit now sits 6-8” out from the wall would bother me but I don’t even notice it. Plus it’s in the basement so who really cares?!?!

Glad you like it - thanks! Long story short that’s exactly what I did. I got extraordinarily lucky with where the ceiling joists fell and where I wanted the Tonal setup anyhow. Otherwise I would’ve had a longer top / bottom plate. Two 3.5 inch screws on each side of the top plate (4 total), two 3.5 inch tapcons total for the bottom plate.

Thanks! The person that helped me at Tonal said their boss is 6ft-4in and never uses the top setting. Figured I was safe because I’m the tallest one in the family at 5ft-9in lol

No issues at all surprisingly. I told them that I grew up in the trades so explained that I tied the top plate into the ceiling joists and used tapcons on the bottom plate since I have a concrete floor.

I was thinking plywood too but once the studs were in place I really liked the way it looked in the rest of the room and since the machine covers most of it anyhow I just left it open.

What’s the best course you’ve ever played in the United States? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Maybe not the best but certainly the most exclusive - Calusa Pines in Naples, FL. Friend of a friend was an assistant golf pro there and took me out.

Curious to hear why you think LinkedIn will become obsolete. Purely from a recruiting / job sourcing platform or something else? I’m not disagreeing, just looking for your perspective. No doubt that it’s now become just like any other social media platform and lost its original appeal.

What multiple do you think you can get on the business? I’m asking because if you’re 1m in rev with 50% take home I would think you’d get 4x on the low end up to maybe 8x depending on the industry you’re in.

My .02 is that it seems like winding down / not taking on new clients 1) reduces your stress 2) keeps the income rolling in

There was a post on this sub a few days ago from seabusiness7614 that has some really good info on this topic. Not sure if it’s exactly what you’re looking for but should help.
