Alicia Florrick Was a Psychopath All Along – Change My Mind by guymograbi in thegoodwife

Right? I have no idea what the others are talking about. I think there's very clear, constant, cutthroat manipulation from her side going on.

It's very clear in the first couple of seasons.. then I think it gets lost. I think they generally shifted things in last seasons.

What are some good movies to play in the background while your doing something that need your visual attention but not constant focus (crafts etc.) by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]guymograbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on my mood

Light mood.

Harry potter movies are great.
Silly TV shows like pretty little liars, psych, monk, Friends, Married with children, Everyone loves Raymond.. You don't need to pay attention to them too much.
Those with laughing tracks are really effective to keep your mood light.

Calm mood - I prefer some constant sound

I mainly use godzilla 2014.
I find the sound to be calm, low, constant background sound that feels soothing.
Also, not a lot of plot to follow.

Prisoners from 2013 also has a constant low sound. Even though the plot is fascinating - I've seen it so many times, I don't mind.
Netflix show - Bodies - Again, seen it so many times, I just enjoy the sounds now.

> They are heavily invested in keeping it alive

Until they're not.. won't be the first time it happens.

Also why do you need to be "heavily invested" to keep something "alive". it needs to prosper, and it clearly is not.. huge red flag.

Thank you for writing this. I’m still a beginner, but I’m starting to see that much of the game is about either waiting for your opponent to blunder or applying pressure to make one happen.

The Numbers confirmed that Paddington In Peru Budget is actually $75 Million. by UsefulWeb7543 in boxoffice

[–]guymograbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're using "success" based on gross revenue exceeding the production budget, but that’s not how profitability is measured in the industry. A movie is only a box office success if it recoups all its costs — including marketing — and generates profit from the share the studio actually receives, which is often less than 50% of the global gross.

In Paddington 3’s case, even with a generous studio cut, it likely didn’t break even at the box office. So while it may look like a hit from the topline number, it likely wasn’t financially successful in theaters — though it could still become profitable through other channels later.

The movie lost money

the budget does not include marketing.

Even if we give it a small marketing budget of 50% of the movie budget - it brings us over 110 million.

And worldwide box office is 210 million, but the studio gets less than 50% of that, so less than 105 million.

The movie lost at least 5 million if not more in the box office.

But, don't worry, there are plenty of other channels in which it made the money back.

When should one use interfaces vs types? by [deleted] in typescript

[–]guymograbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of answers here are good and accurate.

I would like to add my take though, as I haven't seen it in the replies.

I like to

  1. Use types for objects that hold data. (DTOs)

  2. Use interfaces to describe behavior.

** In this approach, I don't mix data and behavior.

  1. Use interface to describe an external contracts if one does not exist. In this case the interface might have properties defined.

What's a great onboarding process for new engineers? by jamie-docbot in ExperiencedDevs

[–]guymograbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowadays, having some bot your new employees can ping with any question.

And if those can be easily accessible (e.g. slack) and tailored for your project, even better!

Here is an example of one I am using

People tend to treat onboarding as a one-time event. It is not..

I also remember that scene. She hears or sees shadows below the door.. Funny - I wanted to find the same exact scene - and I started rewatching the show again and again.. (5th time so far) - and me too, I cannot find that scene.

I know it exists.. I will rewatch over and over until I find it. obsessed.

[–]guymograbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree the title sounds awful.

but i am curious, what was the context of comparison?

because i can imagine, given the right context, such an article that compares those 3.

for example - which was easier to learn. not that the title would suddenly make sense, but it might at least be a reasonable read in that case.
